We went to see “Alita: Battle Angel” (2019) with hubby, because he is a fan of the original manga/anime. I loved the film! It was fun and interesting and so well made. Some people bitch about the huge android eyes, but I loved them a lot and I think they suited the character. Totally recommend the experience.

Wigs and make-up… 21. December 2017

Buckwheat porridge with bacon and onion.

Baked cheesy klaarsäga (a type of catfish) with potatoes, some veggie wok, white bread and herb butter. Also had some Kuma kombucha.

Snacks at Josie’s place. Among other stuff: kale chips, ham rolls with garlic cheese, carrots and cucumber with hummus, bread crisps with mushroom salad and beetroot salad.

 Fried honey chicken.

 Tea and a bacon sandwich.

Kimi no Na wa… 17-18. November 2016

17. November

 Ice cream with cocoa cereal.

 Oatmeal porridge with honey.

 Glass noodles.

Stewed chicken and potatoes with some avocado salad and beetroot.

18. November

Stewed chicken with avocado salad and some beetroot; rice with chicken sauce.

Some shrimp spring rolls and lamb sauce with some rice that I shared with my boyfriend.

 A slice of apple-halve pie.

We went to see an anime called “Kimi no Na wa” in the evening. It was a part of the PÖFF Asian programme and it was the only PÖFF movie we saw this year. No other movie really grabbed my fancy from the list and most of the Japanese movies this year seemed either ultra violent or depressing, so I had no desire to see them. Anyway, “Kimi no Na wa,” was super beautiful and a very sweet anime. It was about a boy and a girl occasionally switching bodies while they slept and about the shenanigans that ensued… but don’t be fooled, despite it having its funny moments, it most definitely wasn’t a comedy. It had a bit of everything: funny moments, sadness, fairy tale elements, fluff, tragedy. Also, the music was beautiful:

I loved it. Watch it if you get a chance.

Guildies… 19. September 2016

Rye cereal with some added strawberry cereal from Candy Japan with milk.

Complimentary bread and butter @ Kuldse Notsu Kõrts.

Fried liver in creamy sauce served with Mulk’s porridge and beet salad. This was absolutely fantastic. The liver was super tender. I haven’t had properly cooked liver for a while, so I was overjoyed. Kuldse Notsu Kõrts was quite a positive experience in general. We stepped in by random and were not disappointed, all the dishes were great.

A latte with cocoa powder and a pistachio chocolate chip roll @ Kehrwieder. I shared the pastry with my boyfriend.

 Tea.

Duck salad @ Karja Kelder. The salad wasn’t too good 😦

My guildies from Rift, Sempi and Sylva (game nicknames) from England, came for a visit 😀 It was great to finally meet them. We spent the first day walking around Tallinn and enjoying the
sights around.

 Lunch at Kuldse Notsu Kõrts

 An apple tree high up

 Enjoying the view(s) 😉

School lunch nostalgia… 4. June 2016

A slice of cheesecake and some coffee

Some watermelon and a sad lonely leftover strawberry

 A sandwich with salted salmon

When I was in middle school, lunch was usually the highlight of my school day. I mostly loved the food that came from our school kitchen (unless it had raisins or dried fruit in it and I also hated that they put a gross tasting jam in milk-, caramel- and chocolate kissel and thus ruined them for me) and one of my most favourite things ever was boiled potatoes with minced meat sauce and shredded beetroot salad. When I was extra lucky a classmate didn’t like it, so I got to eat their share, or someone was missing from school that day and I could “steal” their leftover food. Sometimes I ended up eating 2-3 servings during lunch xD
I tried to re-create that school lunch and it turned out good enough, but the sauces I make never get close to the ones we had at school. Not sure what I do wrong.

Cats make a nice backdrop for photos… 2. June 2016

 Coffee and a banana

A smoothie I made of milk, some melon, blueberries and a few raspberries

I popped open a bag of cherry jelly hard candy. I was doubtful about these, but they were surprisingly good actually. Nice tasting hard candy with a good jelly filling.

Vegetable stew with sour cream and shredded beetroot salad dumped in it.

Fluffy milk chocolate. This had a super fluffy and funny texture, but it tasted great.
(NB!: I didn’t eat the cat!)

Catching up, catching up… 1. June 2016

 Buckwheat with pork sauce

Coffee, a couple of sandwiches with avocado and bell pepper sausage

 A banana

Vegetable stew and shredded beetroot salad

Coffee and Toppo with matcha filling. I was so happy to get a pack of Toppo in one of the Candy Japan boxes. Toppo was one of my very favorite Japanese snacks when I was in Japan for the first time and I’ve missed it a lot. The greedy side of me really didn’t want to share it with my boyfriend xD but then again, I can’t really deny him anything.

Writing woes… 2. December 2014

 Omelette with cottage cheese

School canteen delicacies: Hard to chew meat with orange sauce, some boiled potatoes and beetroot salad. Also had a butter rose pastry for dessert.

I did not eat the cat, no worries :p
