Hommikukohv // Morning Coffee
Coffee and brownie quark
Breaded pork, potatoes, salad, garlic sauce
A cheese roll
Sweet potato fries with dip
I have been so busy and tired, so therefore I have fallen behind with my posts again. Keeping a blogging routine is hard 😦 But how do you not go straight to sleep when you get off at 22:00 or have a 15h shift? Anyway, I will try to catch up now.
Leftover pizza from the night before
Orange juice and a slice of chocolate cookie cake
Butter rose pastry with salmon and a cup of coffee
Prawns with pipiàn sauce
Avocado cream soup with shrimp
Wheat tortilla filled with ice cream and caramelized fruit
I went on a museum trip with Kadi. We visited 7 museums in Kadriorg and in the evening had dinner @ Cantina Carramba. Kerttu joined us for the last event and it was a blast 😀
Two wiener pastries
Seafood pasta in creamy tomato sauce
I was too tired to cook in the evening, so we got pizza instead:
Chicken pizza with chanterelles
Potato and minced meat stew over brown rice
A pancake with banana and honey
Cherry-aronia skyr drink. This was way too thick to drink, most of it didn’t come out of the bottle.
Two bacon and cheese pastries straight out of the oven
Miso soup @ Tokumaru
Chicken katsu curry. I felt upset and tired after my doctor’s appointment, so I decided to treat myself to something nice. This truly hit the spot.
Salad with lamb’s lettuce
Potato and minced meat stew with sour cream
I went and opened the café before my doctor’s appointment in the morning. Then I had the appointment which was… difficult. So, after I had run a few more errands, I treated myself to some nice food and then went home to sleep. The evening was quite a lot more tolerable after my long nap. Sometimes nice food and sleeping the day away are just the answers you need.
Tangerine-honey yoghurt, a banana and a cup of coffee
A luscious quark pastry
Buckwheat porridge with bacon and onion
Lingonberry kvass, boiled potatoes with sausage sauce
Rye bread and cheese sausage
Boiled potatoes, sausage sauce, some salad with marinated garlic
Apple-lingonberry crumble with vanilla ice cream
Sometimes the most mundane and boring days are the best ones. I had a day off work, so I caught up on some chores I had been neglecting while busy. I washed the dishes, boyfriend vacuumed the floors, we took out garbage to recycling. I did laundry and fixed the pocket of my parka. I wrote two blog posts and edited some photos for our café facebook page. Took a nap and had a shower afterwards. I drank hot cups of coffee and listened to podcasts. I cooked proper dinner. I was really content and happy.
A wiener pastry and a quark pastry. Fresh from the oven in the morning and so delicious.
Brownie quark. My new favorite! It had tiny bits of brownie in it.
In the evening, we had a Costa Rican event at work, celebrating Costa Rican Independence Day, with amazing chefs in the kitchen preparing delicious food. The house was packed with people, so me and my boyfriend, we ate in the back office xD
Our chefs for the night- Ráu and François. I am pretty happy to have made their acquaintance this year… and to think this happened by a mere chance 🙂
Mixed seafood ceviche we shared with my boyfriend
Boyfriend had a pulled beef casado with gallo pinto (refried rice with black beans), plantain slices and salad.
I had a vegetarian casado which had creamy zucchini and corn stew instead of beef.
Chilera (spicy pickle)
Churros with dulce de leche
I was so happy and full after all of this!
Salmon and egg bagel and salted cucumber from a convenience store and a cup of hot lovely coffee.
A couple of tangerine candies. I got these from Candy Japan and I was absolutely thrilled about how cute they were and how good they tasted.
Clear vegetable soup with minced meat and a dollop of sour cream + some coriander bread.
A couple of apples.
Dinner with boyfriend. I had another beetroot latte and we shared some sweet potato fries.
A pancake with honey.
A chocolate pastry.
I have been unhappy with my work lately. I mean, I still enjoy the actual work part, I am just tired of running against walls and minor problems not getting solved for months and then us, the people behind the counter, getting blamed for things going wrong even though we have no control over any of it. It has been frustrating and stressful. I got the owners involved now, so hopefully all parties will get their proper say and changes will be made. If not, then… I will be very very sad.
