Homechill… 29. April 2018

Kefir pancakes with Nutella, peanut butter and banana.

 An apple.

Mushroom pelmeni with salad and sour cream.

Some senbei I shared with hubby.

Sakura Love black tea. The package of this tea was adorable. Tea was nice too.

Lazy Saturday… 28. April 2018

 Beetroot burger with rye bread.

Baked strawberry chocolate. This was super yummy. Shared this with hubby.

A crispy wafer with vanilla whip. Also shared with hubby.

 A banana.

Egg noodles with veggie-smoked chicken sauce and some salad.

Tasting new things… 27. April 2018

 Couscous salad with smoked chicken.

Coffee and Ruby Cocoa Kit-Kat. I liked this a lot. The slightly sour berry aftertaste was really nice.

 A cheese roll.

Coffee, cauliflower-green pea soup with sour cream.

Tasted some snacks with hubby: artisan butter senbei, ume cookie (with chopped plum and shiso), white chocolate strawberry. The cookie was okay, the senbei was super delicious and the white chocolate strawberry was quite yuck, because it tasted like strawberry butter.

A cripple at work… 26. April 2018

A grilled sandwich with avocado, ham and cheese; macaroni with minced meat and sour cream.

 Coffee, a marzipan-cardamom pastry.

Taste tasted some croissants. One was covered in chocolate glaze, the other filled with pastry cream.

 Couscous salad with smoked chicken.

Back to work. My hand is allowing me to do simpler manual tasks now, so I could wash dishes and sell stuff. However, since I am not allowed to lift anything heavier, I had a lady helping me out in the evening. She did all the more difficult things like moping the floors and mixing dough for the next day.

… 24. April 2018

Porridge with pumpkin seeds and bits of beef jerky.

Sakura-shrimp kakimochi. This puffed crispy snack was so yummy.

Since I was feeling so down, I asked if we could go to Gotsu for dinner. Hubby said yes. We shared some spicy minced meat rice rolls and a wakame salad.

My favourite thing in the entire world, especially when I am feeling cold or sad: super spicy kimchi stew with pork and some rice to go with it.

A grilled ham and cheese sandwich.

In the morning I went to see a specialist about the thrombosis. She was a lovely and helpful lady who explained the illness from the very beginning to me and set the course of treatment. Sadly, there are still many “we don’t really know’s” with things like this, so I don’t even have an estimate when my hand will stop hurting and when the thrombosis will be gone. Could be a week for the former, could be a month. It all depends on my body they said.

I was taken off birth control and told not to lift heavy things or to exercise. Not sure yet how it will affect my job, but we’ll see. Right now, I am taking a couple of days off to see if the pain lessens. It’s not that bad, the swelling has gone down and my hand is mostly functional, but weak and I can’t make certain movements with it yet.

Bad karma period… 23. April 2018

Garlic tomato soup with quinoa and tortellini.

Hubby brought me a banana and nuts and berries in dark chocolate.

 Fries.

A naked burger and some salad.

I spent most of the day in ER, because in the morning my entire right hand swelled up and turned purple. That was so freaky. After many hours of waiting both in the waiting room and then in the procedures room, where I had many weird and unfortunate people around me (some guy who pooped all over the place right before I got invited in; a drunkard lady who was certain she had alcohol-hepatitis and the only thing she could stomach to eat was alcohol; an old man who begged to wait in the procedures room, because he didn’t want to go back to his wife in the waiting room etc.), it was learned that I have thrombosis in one of the veins in my shoulder. That is so awful, but thankfully it’s treatable and not life threatening for the time being, so I am now getting treatment for it and will go in for further tests and procedures in the future. I hope I heal quick from this and that they will find out what caused it, so I can try and prevent it in the future.
