At the vet… 30. Nov – 1. Dec 2016

30. November

Bran and seeds porridge with honey and 3 tangerines

 Rice cakes with boiled eggs

Pasta with creamy avocado sauce and some salad. I used this recipe for the avocado sauce. I don’t have a food processor so I tried making it in a smoothie blender and that didn’t work that well, so the sauce was a bit chunkier than it probably should have been. In hindsight, I could have probably used the hand blender with better results xD Too bad I am such a slow thinker.

1. December

Two slices of fruit bread and a cup of coffee

Another cup of coffee and a Danish pastry

Oven omelette made of leftovers (spaghetti and whatever frozen veggies I found in the freezer) and some salad

We took our two cats, Totoro and Loki, to the vet in the evening. Totoro has lost quite a bit of fur on her paws and tummy and we had no idea what to do about it. She potentially has a urinary tract infection and is most likely stressed, so she was prescribed a special food, some antibiotics and also antidepressants. I guess the pet matches the owner now. My mom used to joke about this happening years ago, apparently, in her view, I had depressed the cat beyond repair :/

Loki has some sort of cystic bump growing on his neck. The doctor wanted to draw a sample from it for testing to see if it was anything bad, but it wasn’t easy. I fled the room, because I am uneasy around blood and needles, but kept kind of observing the ordeal through the glass door none the less. Eventually it was four people in the examination room, trying to hold Loki down, to get the test sample xD He sure is strong for such a tiny animal.

Day 12 – Today’s Outfit

Clothes are a sensitive topic for me right now as I have again gained some weight. I can’t fit in most of my clothes right now and look like an overstuffed sausage in the clothes I somewhat still fit into. I lost around 4 kg in a couple of months, but regained that and more within a few weeks when I was feeling super down and had no willpower neither to drag myself to gym nor to eat properly. It’s ridiculously unfair how easy it is to gain weight and how hard it is to lose some. I want to fit in my clothes again.

My today’s outfit was: black leggings, black tank top and a light cardigan that has a red-white pattern on a black base. Real sexy, I know.

I did try to photograph my outfit, but it was complicated as I don’t have a bigger mirror and I felt silly about laying the clothes out on the bed to take a photo of them. The photos I managed to take were pretty horrible looking, so I will spare the eyes of the world and not post any of them.

Here, have a picture of a beautiful cat instead:

 All, hail Loki!

A pointless day and a nice day with blisters… 5-6. November 2016

5. November

Coffee and a couple of cranberry kohuke.

Rice with Chinese cabbage, sesame seeds and a fried egg.

I ate this entire chocolate ice cream.

Pelmeni with sour cream and salad.

I didn’t do anything useful the entire day. Also I ate too much crap.

At least my vicious little predator is adorable. He jumped smack head first against the window at some point, because a dove got too close xD

6. November

 Coffee and a cranberry kohuke.

Rye bread with butter and sausage; boiled egg with salt.

Japanese style pumpkin curry with rice and salad.

 A banana.

It was so nice and snowy outside, so we decided to go out for a walk. We ended up walking almost 12 km and since it was the first time I wore my winter boots this year and my feet were not used to them, I got a huuuuuge blister under my foot xD It was a really lovely day though.

Junky foods, kitty, a good movie and a dream… 25-26. September 2016

25. September

 Pear halva cake.

 Tom yum flavoured instant noodles.

 An apple.

Vegetable gratin, toasted rye bread and some pumpkin juice.

Boyfriend took a nice photo of Loki.

26. September

Oatmeal porridge with different seeds and some honey.

Fried sausages and tom yum flavoured instant noodles.

 Raspberry lemonade @ Mack Bar-B-Que

 Fried chicken with guacamole

Pulled pork pizza. I only had about half a slice, because the pizza turned out to be extremely sweet tasting and it was disgusting.

I ate some fries instead. They were overseasoned and too salty 😦

We went to see “The Magnificent Seven” in the evening. I had no expectations for the movie, because it wasn’t a movie I had particularly wanted to see in the first place. I ended up enjoying the movie a lot. It had fantastic characters and a pretty straightforward storyline which was good. Honestly, I fell in love with ALL of the characters, even though most of them were pretty awful people. I bet the social justice warriors are giving this movie a lot of flak due to blatant racism in it etc, but in my eyes it was the most racially diverse movie with a strong female character I had seen for ages. I was also surprised later that the movie had managed to avoid so many clichés this type of movies usually have. The most notable missing clichés were flashbacks and a corny romance storyline. So if you want to watch something action packed and fun with great characters, I really recommend this western.

Also, Chris Pratt’s smug face for the win! 😀 I had a dream about him kissing me the following night xD Unfortunately the dream me is still faithful to my boyfriend, so I rejected him xD What the heck of a dream was that!?!?

Cool things I found while wasting time online #1

So this is a bit of a rip-off from so many blogs around, but I thought it’s a fun idea to have a weekly post about interesting things I stumble upon online, because why not? Maybe I’ll even manage to attract some new online friends with similar interests like that :p *wishful thinking*

Anyway, these posts will contain anything I find noteworthy in one week. It can be anything from fandom stuff to recipes and crazy news articles. I think I will be making these posts on Mondays.

  • This Deadpool animated movie musical. It’s kind of adorable, but somewhat spoilery, so if you have not seen the movie and don’t want minor spoilers, don’t watch it. The portrayal of Colossus isn’t very accurate in the parody and that annoyed me a bit, but otherwise it’s great 😀
  • These two Deadpool related artworks on Etsy that I will buy as a reward for myself when I manage to finish my graduation paper:
    * The Spideypool one I imagine as a part of my future kitchen; It’ll be perfect for it no matter if I even have a proper kitchen in the future. If I only have a stove in the bathroom corner as a kitchen, I want that picture there somewhere.
    * And this one is just really cool and I want it.
  • Ever thought of adding cocoa powder to noodles? Neither have I, but apparently it’s a thing in Hungary.
  • Rage yoga exists. I would love to give this one a try for sure xD
  • I want to make and devour these sheet pan hash browns so much. I need to make this.
  • This is not an online thing, but I also found that on my bed last week:

 Loki is a burrow animal.
