Vegan experiments at work… 7. March 2018

Vegan cheese roll. It tasted like bread with mayo, so not so sure about this.

 Chicken katsudon from Washoku Story.

 Some kiwifruit.

 Pelmeni with sour cream.

Coffee and kit-kats I shared with my boyfriend. One of the matcha ones was super potent and bitter. It was cool in it’s own way, but I am not completely sure I liked it xD I enjoyed the mild matcha one better. Starwberry and sweet potato ones were kind of meh to me… The black tea one was okay and the tiny berry and almond one was the best one of the bunch.

Vet… 1. February 2018

 Quinoa cereal with milk.

Boiled egg, rye bread with butter and ham.

Tomato and red rice soup with sour cream. Also drank some kombucha.

Okinawa style brown cane sugar flavoured potato sticks. Shared wit boyfriend, they tasted okay.

My poor kitties have been to the vet several times for the past two weeks for a check-up and some procedures.

Loki had surgery on the left side of his neck and behind his ear. He had a strange lump on his neck that seemed to be growing over the years. We did try to get a sample from the growth some time ago to determine what it was, but failed, so the doctor decided that the best option was to remove it just in case. During the surgery it turned out that there were altogether three strange lumps on his neck, plus a tumour behind his ear D: Poor Chernobyl kitty! The growths and the tumour were sent in for further analysis.

He was groggy for the first couple of days but seems to be doing better now already. He managed to scratch open the stitches behind his ear at some point though, so we had to take him back in. This time they clamped the wound shut with metal clasps D: He is the Terminator kitty now. Anyway, he is healing now as well.

Kohuke needed her first vaccines and then she got sterilised. No kitty babies for her. There are way too many unwanted kitties out there already, her having been one of them at some point, considering she was thrown out of a car to a farm yard. She is doing fine already, recovering quick and being her usual little rascal.

Totoro went in for a check-up, because she has licked away so much fur from her legs and tummy. The doctor got a blood test done for ailments that could cause this, but all was clear. We would need to send in a urine sample, but that is just mission impossible… we have her locked up for the second day in a row in the bathroom with the special kitty litter and a bowl of water, but she just refuses to go and pee D:

If we manage to get a pee sample and nothing wrong is found with it, then it’s either a) the food she is eating or b) stress. In any case, I hope we will figure out the cause, because SHE UGLY right now and of course, I don’t want my sweet cat to be in distress in general.

Crappy ice cream… 23. October 2017

I decided to treat myself to some ice cream after my doctor’s appointment. I grabbed a couple of scoops from Ice Café  and oh my gosh, was this ice cream disgusting. Both scoops – caramel-popcorn and chocolate – tasted really off and unpleasant 😦 It felt such a waste, especially since one scoop cost 2 euros, but I had to throw the ice cream away, because it was inedible. BOO! 😦

Buckwheat and cabbage stew with sour cream.

 Homemade rye bread with cheese.

I took Kohuke to the vet for a check-up. She was mostly fine, they couldn’t do anything about the wounds on her leg anymore, as they were too old and almost done healing already. She did have ear mites, so she got her ears cleaned and medication against the parasites. Mostly a healthy kitten, just malnourished and tiny for her age.

Kohuke… 22. October 2017

 Coffee and sandwiches for breakfast

 Chocolate cheesecake. Yum!

Coffee and nuts-seeds in dark chocolate

Pelmeni with sour cream and some carrots

I spent most of the day sleeping away my exhaustion. At some point my boyfriend came and dropped a small cat on top of me and straight into my heart. Apparently, about a month ago, some asshole had thrown several kittens all over the village. One kitten got dropped near our relative’s farm. Unfortunately, the dog scared the kitten, so it fled up a tree and then they couldn’t catch it for almost a month. The poor thing was so dirty, hungry and scared. Our relatives couldn’t keep her, so there was talk about a pet shelter, but these places only keep the cats a certain period and then put them to sleep. I felt really bad for the kitten, so I talked my boyfriend into taking her with us back to Tallinn and trying to find her a home there. He agreed, so now we have a small house guest. I named her Kohuke.

Second day in Uppsala. We did more walking around the town and visited The Uppsala University Palaeontology Museum, which was awesome. All these old animal and dinosaur bones and fossils were fascinating… and also really really scary to me xD History frightens me and I get scared in museums, even though I absolutely love visiting those places.

In the evening, we caught another overnight boat back to Estonia. It was a great trip, I loved it a lot. Sweden is a beautiful country and I am absolutely in love with their nature and landscape.

 Birdie caught a wormie

 Mummified cat O_O

How cute is that depiction of the fossil?

This is why I am afraid of the water

 A dragon skull from Russia

 What dinosaurs actually looked like

27. May

A banana and a coconut bar in milk chocolate

Porridge with honey and some coffee

Pelmeni in chicken bouillon with some sour cream

Delicious raspberry juice I bought in Sweden

We got back home and unpacked. I took a long nap and then I spent the rest of the evening baking some cakes for the open gardens café event during the Pelgulinna street festival the next day.

 Also, Loki helped me unpack
