Work, clinic and friends… 4-5. May 2017

4. May

Coffee and a kohuke. The kohuke wasn’t very good and I didn’t eat the Cherry-Spice Ampstükk, because it tasted horrible. Disappointing breakfast.

Breakfast take 2: porridge with honey and butter

A smoked tofu burrito @ Koloniaal

Pelmeni in spicy chili sauce with salad

5. May

Rice crackers with ham, cucumber and sesame seeds

 Smoothie and brownies from Blender

 Saku Antvärk honey pear cider

Saku Antvärk lime cloudberry cider. Look at my adorable Yurio charm that Eva got me 😀

 Coffee ♥

Laura Moon’s chili with rice and sour cream

 Cheesecake from Killuke Kooki

I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning which was super stressful. At first my doctor was late and then it was just emotionally quite hard. I was emotionally exhausted afterwards, so I went and blasted a gift card I had in Blender for and energy boost in the form of a delicious smoothie and some brownies.

Later in the evening I had Eva and Marit over for some chili and drinks. Eventually, Indrek came home as well and brought cake. I totally overate :p

Disappointed… 1. February 2017

Fried potatoes and salad with garlic sprouts

Sandwiches with bacon and avocado. I also allowed myself a beer, because of reasons.

Chicken and orzo casserole with salad

I didn’t get the job I went in for an interview some weeks ago, so I was feeling pretty bummed out the entire day. I had already been daydreaming about working in that place, so the disappointment was great. It wasn’t that I was not qualified, but instead, after a bigger meeting, they decided a different direction for their establishment and thus they could not hire me. No hard feelings or anything, just disappointed. I did however get some neat recommendations from them for some other cafés and coffee shops, I had never heard of before, where to try and apply for a position. So, giving that a try.

The worst part about this is that it probably means more trips to the unemployment office for me and I absolutely hate going there. They always make you feel as if you are the most worthless scum of the earth, wasting “their” money and time. I have been thinking of applying to change my unemployment agent, but this could mean repercussions and I’m not sure I want to risk losing my health insurance. I really hope I’ll find a job before my next mandatory meeting. That however still doesn’t mean that any random job would do. I know what I want to do and I’ll continue searching for that.

I’m terrible when I am tired… 18-19. Dec 2016

18. December

Coffee, a boiled egg and several minced meat pastries

A cappuccino and I had a couple of bites of the cheesecake

Buckwheat-cabbage stew, fried blood pudding and cucumber salad with sour cream.

I didn’t sleep well the night before, so I was moody and tired for most of the day. We drove back from Pärnu and went to Tondiraba ice-rink, because my brother had his ice-skating group Christmas party/show there. I was a bad big sister and decided to nap in the café instead of watching my little brother dance on ice. I took a proper long nap when we finally got back home… I felt so much better after that. I’m not a very nice person when I am tired.

19. December

Cereal with milk and a cup of coffee

 Buckwheat-cabbage stew

Coffee and a few banana muffins

Salmon sandwiches and a vermouth (?) cocktail

Had one slice of veggie quiche

In the evening, we went to visit our friends Mati and Merle to pick up my cake mould I forgot there the last time we visited. It was originally supposed to be a quick visit, but we ended up staying for hours and just chatting in their kitchen. Was quite lovely.

A small celebration… 22. November 2016

 Cereal with milk.

A couple of avocado sandwiches and two boiled eggs.

In the evening, we celebrated Miss K’s birthday in a place called TOA (Taste of Asia). Pictured above are her Apple Martini, my boyfriend’s coconut lassi and my matcha spritz.

Starters that we shared: Crispy cod, beef rolls grilled in lime leaf marinade and grilled broccolini (???). The cod was delicious, the beef okay, but kind of boring tasting and… the broccolini were just chunks of broccoli. The broccoli was still tasty, but I was disappointed because I’ve never had broccolini before and was excited to try it.

I had tonkatsu ramen noodles. It was alright as ramen in Estonia goes. The broth turned extremely salty at the end when it cooled, so that was a bit lame, but otherwise it was good. Tokumaru still has the best ramen in Tallinn imho.

Boyfriend had beef stir-fry and Miss K had a sweet potato and mushroom curry with coconut milk.

 Cappuccino.

Gyoza pouches with Macha tea and pistachio filling. These were absolutely deliciousssss!

Piksepini… 29. October 2016

 Coffee and some beef pastries.

 A banana.

A very dry cheese and ham pastry.

Jam cookies and some cheese cookies later.

 Jägermeister Spice.

Some tortilla chips with fish salad.

 Pumpkin-banana bread with pumpkin seeds.

Salad, baked highland cattle beef with vegetables and cheese sauce.

All that I mentioned above with some cherry beer.

 Cake.

It was a weird day for me. We drove to Southern Estonia in the morning, because Indrek and Liivar had an enduro race there they wanted to participate it. I was actually looking forward to the trip this time and was in a good mood, because I knew I’d get to hang out with Liia. I’ve been really whiny and not in the mood for the past few times we have been to South Estonia.

Anyway, the race was a bit boring for the audience, because the track was long and we had no idea where any good spots would be where to camp out to see guys struggle in the mud or where to snap more interesting pictures. It was still fun though, because the company was good. We ended up standing near one obstacle for a while where most racers ignored the track markings and took the easier route up a hill. We spent a while standing there, bitching at the racers and filming it all :p The video if you are by any miracle interested:

After the race was over, I left with Liia and Ly to go and do some errands. I got sick in the car and ended up throwing up on the roadside. I spent a few hours shivering and feeling sick in bed in Kiuma later. Thankfully it passed, whatever it was, but I hurt my throat when throwing up and it hurt to swallow even water for the rest of the evening.

Anyway, we ended the day in Karula, where we had dinner and belatedly celebrated my boyfriend’s birthday with his family. Ly had ordered him a cake with a hilarious photo on it :p That’s my boyfriend at the Klaperjaht race last summer, dead tired and stuck in a mud ditch xD

Pumpkinlicious… 24. October 2016

Kefir bread with butter and sprats, fried eggs, a leftover blood sausage from last night’s dinner and some tomato-cucumber salad with cottage cheese.

Fizz Cider Sorbet Lemon Taste. I got this because it sounded interesting, but it ended up being disappointingly bad again. Meh, why do I even bother with these drinks?

Mashed potatoes with pumpkin, boiled sausages and tomato-cucumber salad with cottage cheese.

Tea and pumpkin banana bread with pumpkin seeds and peanut butter nibs.

On drinking alone… 17. October 2016

Coffee, Greek yoghurt with a banana, some oat cereal and chia seeds.

Instant noodles with sour cream. Too many instant noodles, Annika! I’m really having trouble controlling my eating these days :/

French fries and some fried wieners. Also beer. I drank about 5 bottles in the evening, because it was just that kind of a day. I didn’t get as drunk as I would have liked to which was disappointing.

I started drinking over Skype with Eva, who lives in Japan. It was pretty fun, but then eventually it became bed time for her, so I had to continue drinking alone. I haven’t really been drinking home alone for a very long time now. I used to do it a lot, but now I am more of a social drinker. For a while I had a beer or two during our rare raid nights with the guild on Rift, but I guess that counts as social drinking, because we were always chatting away over voice chat during it. We haven’t really had a raid night for over half a year now too, because everyone got busy with real life. Eh. Don’t you just hate it when real life gets in the way of gaming? :p
