Treat yo’ self… 13. October 2017

Coffee and an apple. I didn’t eat the lemon yoghurt cream, because the texture was weirdly liquid and the taste weird.

I decided I needed a treat after my work week, so I went to Gelato Ladies and got myself a scoop of chocolate ice cream and their Halloween special black ice cream :p People looked at me weird, when I walked around eating black ice cream xD

Treats continue: a small pastry from RØST. It looked so good, but it was too sweet for me 😦

Even more treats: a sourdough sandwich with salmon also from RØST. I love their bread.

Oven baked pumpkin and potatoes with some sour cream and a side of sliced cucumber.

Lehe Ravnodenstvie BA Russian Imperial Stout. This was a super intense flavour bomb. Loved it! It was a good company to the nightmare rift run we did with my guild in Rift 🙂

Blade Runner… 8. October 2017

Leftover Indian style curry with beef and cashews + rice and a couple of fried eggs. Looks horrid, was delicious.

Shared these two pastries with my boyfriend: a giant quark pastry and a cardamom pastry. They looked might fine, but I didn’t enjoy their flavour very much.

Rice cake with ice cream and pineapple-apple jam + a cup of coffee.

Vegetable and mushroom soup with sour cream.

Homemade white bread with butter. So good! We devoured almost half of the big loaf, I made, in one go XD

We watched the 1982 “Blade Runner” movie in the evening. I had never seen it, despite having read about the movie and its significance in so many research papers and pop culture analysis. I had read Philip K. Dick’s “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” and it was thrilling to me to spot all the familiar things from the book. I really enjoyed the entire aesthetic of the movie and the story too. I was, however, amused at the OH SO awkward acting, but eh xD Good movie, am excited to see the sequel to it now on big screen soon.

Have you seen the old and/or new “Blade Runner” movie(s)? Did you enjoy them? 😀

Lambic beer evening… 7. October 2017

A cup of coffee and Ritter Sport chocolate with crispy corn flakes.

I went and had cake with my little brother @ Ristikheina Kohvik. He had a banana-chocolate cake and I had a cherry cake.

Alfred also had an ice cream cocktail with apple juice and I had a freshly pressed mixed juice.

In the evening I went to a dinner even with my boyfriend at Koloniaal. The first course was shrimp-avocado cocktail. Every course was accompanied by a different lambic beer.

 My date ♥

Cheese croquettes with cherry sauce. One of the croquettes had bacon in it, the other one was regular.

Buttery white fish with boiled potatoes. The fish was great!

Stewed rabbit with broccoli. The rabbit was super tender and yummy.

Rice cake with ice cream and jam. I loved the cake a lot.

The best days are like this… 16. September 2017

 Brownie quark

 Rye bread and cheese sausage

Boiled potatoes, sausage sauce, some salad with marinated garlic

Apple-lingonberry crumble with vanilla ice cream

Sometimes the most mundane and boring days are the best ones. I had a day off work, so I caught up on some chores I had been neglecting while busy. I washed the dishes, boyfriend vacuumed the floors, we took out garbage to recycling. I did laundry and fixed the pocket of my parka. I wrote two blog posts and edited some photos for our café facebook page. Took a nap and had a shower afterwards. I drank hot cups of coffee and listened to podcasts. I cooked proper dinner. I was really content and happy.

Getting things off my chest… 14. September 2017

Salmon and egg bagel and salted cucumber from a convenience store and a cup of hot lovely coffee.

A couple of tangerine candies. I got these from Candy Japan and I was absolutely thrilled about how cute they were and how good they tasted.

 Beetroot latte.

Clear vegetable soup with minced meat and a dollop of sour cream + some coriander bread.

 A couple of apples.

Dinner with boyfriend. I had another beetroot latte and we shared some sweet potato fries.

 A pancake with honey.

 A chocolate pastry.

I have been unhappy with my work lately. I mean, I still enjoy the actual work part, I am just tired of running against walls and minor problems not getting solved for months and then us, the people behind the counter, getting blamed for things going wrong even though we have no control over any of it. It has been frustrating and stressful. I got the owners involved now, so hopefully all parties will get their proper say and changes will be made. If not, then… I will be very very sad.

Jam, jam, making jam… 11. September 2017

Rye bread with butter and coffee for breakfast

I spent most of the day cleaning the lingonberries Loviise picked for me.

Then I set a jarful of lingonberry kvass to ferment. Going to be an interesting experiment for sure. The yellow glob in the bottom is honey.

Rye cereal with honey and milk for lunch

After that I made lingonberry-apple jam.

A luscious chanterelle beef burger from Diner. OMG HEAVENNNN! I had planned to make dinner at home, even bought the ingredients, but since my stove is tiny and the bubbling jam pot was big, I had no room on the stove for anything else. Thus, the take-out.

 But I gots jam!

Lingonberries… 10. September 2017

Coffee, several slices of rye bread with butter and chocolate for breakfast. I basically ate the same thing for lunch too :p There were some slices of ham with some of the bread too.

I went to the forest with Loviise to pick some lingonberries. She did most of the picking whilst I took photos xD That spot was gorgeous! I have never seen that many lingonberries in one place before. It was almost impossible to walk without stepping on the berries.

 Funny moss

 A mushroom among the lingonberries

 So red!
