Lambic beer evening… 7. October 2017

A cup of coffee and Ritter Sport chocolate with crispy corn flakes.

I went and had cake with my little brother @ Ristikheina Kohvik. He had a banana-chocolate cake and I had a cherry cake.

Alfred also had an ice cream cocktail with apple juice and I had a freshly pressed mixed juice.

In the evening I went to a dinner even with my boyfriend at Koloniaal. The first course was shrimp-avocado cocktail. Every course was accompanied by a different lambic beer.

 My date ♥

Cheese croquettes with cherry sauce. One of the croquettes had bacon in it, the other one was regular.

Buttery white fish with boiled potatoes. The fish was great!

Stewed rabbit with broccoli. The rabbit was super tender and yummy.

Rice cake with ice cream and jam. I loved the cake a lot.

At the lake… 24. September 2017

Coffee and several sandwiches with butter and honey

 Porridge

Leftover chicken and veggies from the day before, some sült and tomato-cucumber salad

Coffee and a breakfast burrito (egg, bacon, potatoes) I shared with my bf

In the morning we helped Agu and Liia to set up a new corral for their cows and then move them to their new corral. Afterwards we went down to a lake. The others went out on a boat and tried to catch some fish. I stayed on the bridge, because I don’t feel comfortable with people swishing around fishing hooks near me :p It was so nice, warm and calm. It was such a shame we had to drive back to Tallinn. I would have loved to have spent another couple of days at the country side.

Mushroom hunting… 23. September 2017

We went to Southern Estonia for the weekend. When we got to our destination, we were greeted with a delicious chicken dish for lunch. After the glorious meal we went to the forest to hunt for mushrooms. I think we spent over 4 hours in the forests… sadly we didn’t get as many mushrooms as I had hoped, because the season for them is over, but it was still great as a long hike.

After the mushrooms adventure, everyone else went to a party nearby, but I was too exhausted to join them, so I took a nap on the couch. Later when they were back from the party, we went to sauna which was really nice…. I’d say it was a day well spent.

The best days are like this… 16. September 2017

 Brownie quark

 Rye bread and cheese sausage

Boiled potatoes, sausage sauce, some salad with marinated garlic

Apple-lingonberry crumble with vanilla ice cream

Sometimes the most mundane and boring days are the best ones. I had a day off work, so I caught up on some chores I had been neglecting while busy. I washed the dishes, boyfriend vacuumed the floors, we took out garbage to recycling. I did laundry and fixed the pocket of my parka. I wrote two blog posts and edited some photos for our café facebook page. Took a nap and had a shower afterwards. I drank hot cups of coffee and listened to podcasts. I cooked proper dinner. I was really content and happy.

Work… 13. September 2017

 Coffee and two quark pastries

 Grapes

Beetroot latte. This was really yummy and the pinkness of the drink made me all cheery.

Boiled potatoes with pork sauce and some salad

 Cheese pastry

Last night’s spicy soup turned into something with rice 😀 It was still good. Also had a slice of rye bread with butter.

Jam, jam, making jam… 11. September 2017

Rye bread with butter and coffee for breakfast

I spent most of the day cleaning the lingonberries Loviise picked for me.

Then I set a jarful of lingonberry kvass to ferment. Going to be an interesting experiment for sure. The yellow glob in the bottom is honey.

Rye cereal with honey and milk for lunch

After that I made lingonberry-apple jam.

A luscious chanterelle beef burger from Diner. OMG HEAVENNNN! I had planned to make dinner at home, even bought the ingredients, but since my stove is tiny and the bubbling jam pot was big, I had no room on the stove for anything else. Thus, the take-out.

 But I gots jam!
