Saku Antwärk cloudberry and lime cider that was super delicious, Saku Manchester beer

It was great seeing all my friends ♥

The Bifrost Incident… 7. April 2017

 Rice cereal with milk

Tomato soup with sour cream and mozzarella

 A cheesecake flavoured kohuke

 Buckwheat-cabbage stew with sour cream

A cherry pastry and a chocolate doughnut

I spent the day listening to The Mechanisms album “The Bifrost Incident” on Spotify. I am so in love with it. It’s as if the band had opened my head up, fished around in it for ideas and then wrote this album. It’s brilliant. I had goosebumps and was jumping around the room in excitement while listening to this masterpiece. This hasn’t happened to me in a long while.

Basically, it’s like a story told in a musical form, with different voices singing as different characters. If you are into Norse mythology, steampunk, Lovecraft or all the previously mentioned, be sure to give this album a listen. You can listen or buy the album here or look it up on Spotify 🙂

Forgetting everything… 5. April 2017

Rice with tuna, cabbage, sour cream, soy sauce and black sesame seeds

Spicy tomato soup over tortilla chips with some Kalamaja Vürtsleib (bread made by Paljas Pagar) @ Koloniaal

 Fries @ Diner

Boyfriend had a giant spicy burger

My “naked” burger with salad. We also shared a bottle of Limonaad.

I had work in the morning. Kadi came to hang out in the café near lunch time, which was awesome 😀 She waited for my shift to end so we could catch the same trolleybus home. By that point I was tired and super forgetful about everything, so half way to the trolleybus stop, I remembered that I needed to go pick up my health certificate from the doctor’s office. So, I tortured her poor tired feet and turned us around, walked to the doctor’s office, picked up my certificate, took it back to work… only to find out that I had forgotten to log out of my Spotify account over there and that I had also forgotten my phone charger xD Good thing I went back there I guess xD

Eventually, we did catch the trolleybus 😀 I was dead tired when I got home, so I took a nap. Since I was too groggy to cook dinner later, boyfriend, the sweetheart, took us to Diner for dinner 😀 Which was the greatest thing ever 😀

Too much rice and violence in films… 9. February 2017

 Fried potatoes

Pistachio and Macarons ice cream that was delicious

Rice with ham and soy sauce

Some meat pastries I shared with my boyfriend; rice with tuna and Chinese cabbage. Also, had a cup of coffee.

We watched “John Wick” in the evening, because boyfriend has been excited about the sequel and I hadn’t seen the first one yet. I was a bit sceptical about whether I could stomach the movie as it is quite violent, but it was alright. I really liked the movie a lot. There is something really cool about the idea of an assassin’s reputation being so good that not even the police dare to fuck with him xD

We have also been watching the first season of “Westworld,” which I enjoy a lot despite it being bloodier than I am usually comfortable with when it comes to people gutting each other.

It’s weird with me and violence in movies. Some of my favourite ever movies are quite violent. Take for instance “Alien” (and the sequels). It’s a rather violent movie with body horror elements, but I don’t mind it all that much. I’ve come to the realisation that violence doesn’t bother me as much when it takes place in a fantasy setting. It perhaps doesn’t feel as real when it’s an orc gutting a man or a bunch of elves slashing at each other or some monster hibernating in a human corpse, but when it’s two guys in a “realistic” (be it the streets of New York or the imaginary wild west space in “Westworld” even) setting shooting or beating each other, then somehow to me it feels more real and it’s harder for me to watch. Of course, it also depends how graphicly the violence is shown I guess. I twitched and groaned in several places during both “John Wick” and “Westworld” where knives were used in a fight in the former or sawing off an android’s head in the latter.

Anyhow, what’s your favourite movies and how do you feel about graphic violence in movies?

Friends… 20-21. Dec 2016

20. December

A slice of mushroom and ham quiche and a cup of coffee @ Gustav Café. The quiche was not good at all, I only ate half of it. It had too much seasoning which made it very unpleasant to eat.

Maarja

Chicken curry @ Little India. Very good stuff for a lunch  menu offering. Yum!

 Potato paratha

 Ham sandwich and coffee

Pelmeni with sour cream and some kimchi

 Tea and a rum pastry

Shopping is hard. I spent the day with Maarja, walking around in a local super market and trying to find myself a new coat or something else to wear outside, because my only jacket was falling apart. According to my pedometer I walked 22km that day; also, I got a blister under my foot, I lost my lip piercing, a button from my old coat and broke two nails xD At least the company was good ♥ and I eventually did find a suitable parka to wear… at the very last store I went to xD

21. December

A couple of rum pastries and a cup of coffee

Glass noodles with wakame and sour cream

I had a beer and some deep fried potato peels with Anna ♥

Chicken kimchi stew with some rice

I spent the day running errands and organising Yule presents. In the evening I met up with Anna for a few hours to grab a beer and to catch up. Was lovely!

I’m terrible when I am tired… 18-19. Dec 2016

18. December

Coffee, a boiled egg and several minced meat pastries

A cappuccino and I had a couple of bites of the cheesecake

Buckwheat-cabbage stew, fried blood pudding and cucumber salad with sour cream.

I didn’t sleep well the night before, so I was moody and tired for most of the day. We drove back from Pärnu and went to Tondiraba ice-rink, because my brother had his ice-skating group Christmas party/show there. I was a bad big sister and decided to nap in the café instead of watching my little brother dance on ice. I took a proper long nap when we finally got back home… I felt so much better after that. I’m not a very nice person when I am tired.

19. December

Cereal with milk and a cup of coffee

 Buckwheat-cabbage stew

Coffee and a few banana muffins

Salmon sandwiches and a vermouth (?) cocktail

Had one slice of veggie quiche

In the evening, we went to visit our friends Mati and Merle to pick up my cake mould I forgot there the last time we visited. It was originally supposed to be a quick visit, but we ended up staying for hours and just chatting in their kitchen. Was quite lovely.

Paprika… 14. Dec 2016

Polar bread with ham and tomato + a cup of coffee

 Pelmeni with sour cream

 Nabe time!

Beef, cabbage, shimeji mushrooms, carrots, glass noodles, tofu with some ponzu and black roasted sesame seeds. Also, had some kimchi with this all.

 Coffee and assorted cakes

Peanuts. I can’t even remember when was the last time I ate peanuts like this. It’s quite fun to peel them 😀

We had guests in the evening. We made some Japanese style hot pot and watched an anime called “Paprika.” The idea was to introduce my friend’s significant other to anime, but we kind of messed it up with the choice of anime, as “Paprika” was pretty crazy and hard to understand. I had read the book, the anime was based on, so it was easier for me to understand. I think I would have been pretty confused about some things too if I hadn’t read the book beforehand. For me it was a good show however and I really liked the soundtrack of the anime a lot.
