Work and sleep, nothing much else… 19-21. April 2017

19. April

Four grain porridge with butter and a banana

Mulgi Krõpsud potato chips, Realist sea-buckthorn lemonade and a pancake with ham and cheese

Pearl barley with mushroom-minced meat sauce and some salad

I splurged on my lunch, because I had a bad day. I was supposed to have a day off, but one of my co-workers didn’t show up for his shift, so I rushed in to save the day until someone else could come in and replace me. Unfortunately, I am the only one there right now without children or a second job, so it only made sense that I’d go. I guess I wasn’t really pissed off at having to work, but because having to work, because someone else didn’t attend his duties.

20. April

 Coffee and some fruit bread

Öun apple lemonade with red currant

Eggplant chili with rice, tortilla chips and sour cream

A banana-honey pancake I shared with my boyfriend

Pearl barley and rice with mushroom-minced meat sauce

21. April

Coffee, quark with passion tefruit jam

My new favourite tea from Marks & Spencer- refreshing cucumber, peppermint & spirulina. So good.

Azu, which is a Tatar style pork stew, with sweet potato fries and some salad

More coffee and a Jäämari chocolate ice-cream

A pancake with mushrooms and bacon + some salad

I was working full day shifts for the past two days, because the guy, who didn’t show up for his shift, didn’t appear for his half-day shifts either on the next days. As far as we know, he is fine, just not allowing any contact. It has happened before. I guess he is no longer my co-worker. So, for the foreseeable future, we are understaffed in the café. They are looking for new people, but it’s not going too well as people don’t show up for their trial days and interviews like promised. Just on Thursday a lady didn’t come in for a trial day like she’d promised and only one girl showed up for an interview out of three who were supposed to come.

Junkfood kind of day… 22. March 2017

Fried potatoes, sausage sandwiches and marinated cucumber.

Kadi came to visit and she brought green tea cake and cookies from Killuke Kooki 😀 We had them with some peppermint tea. That cake was so so so good!

Had about 1,5 bottles of beer… maybe a bit more.

We had fun assembling some Japanese DIY candy kits. This one was called “Nyokonyoko Kororon” or as we called it “creepy candy wormies” xD The candy tasted weird and I didn’t like it much. It was fun to make though :p

This is a short vid of how the wormies were made:

Sour cream and onion senbei that was spot on with the beer

This candy kit was “Kurabete Neruneru”. The green goo was melon flavoured and the yellow one was pineapple flavoured. We both really liked the pineapple taste.

Poppin’Cookin’ “Tanoshii Raamenya-san” aka “Fun Ramen Restaurant” ;D This was epic fun to make. It actually looked like real ramen and gyoza xD The gyoza tasted really nice too, the ramen had a weird texture, but didn’t taste bad.

 Chocolate ice cream break

Soy flavoured senbei that also went great with the beer

Tasty chickpea soup with feta cheese and assorted nuts and seeds. I followed this recipe to make the soup.

I had a really lovely and fun day with Kadi. The DIY candy kits were hilarious to assemble and after we were done with these, we just chilled with some beer and chattered away about all sorts of nonsense ♥

Most of the DIY candy was left for my boyfriend xD He appreciated it and ate them all without complaint when he got off work xD

Sometimes days like this happen… 9. January 2017

An egg sandwich and rice cereal with milk

Ramen noodles in chicken broth with sour cream and sesame seeds

 Chocolate ice cream

Vanilla and chocolate ice cream with caramel

It was just one of those days, you know, where things simply go wrong. I didn’t get anything done, I hurt my toe badly (it’s now bandaged up and hurting still), I had a stomach ache and late in the evening it turned out I had forgotten to stock up on birth control pills. I was pretty glad when the day was finally over and I could go to sleep.

A perk in the day was my boyfriend who brought me two pots of ice cream, so I had ice cream for dinner. Take that, bad day!

A pointless day and a nice day with blisters… 5-6. November 2016

5. November

Coffee and a couple of cranberry kohuke.

Rice with Chinese cabbage, sesame seeds and a fried egg.

I ate this entire chocolate ice cream.

Pelmeni with sour cream and salad.

I didn’t do anything useful the entire day. Also I ate too much crap.

At least my vicious little predator is adorable. He jumped smack head first against the window at some point, because a dove got too close xD

6. November

 Coffee and a cranberry kohuke.

Rye bread with butter and sausage; boiled egg with salt.

Japanese style pumpkin curry with rice and salad.

 A banana.

It was so nice and snowy outside, so we decided to go out for a walk. We ended up walking almost 12 km and since it was the first time I wore my winter boots this year and my feet were not used to them, I got a huuuuuge blister under my foot xD It was a really lovely day though.

Buckwheaty… 1-2. November 2016

1. November

Fried rice noodles with kefir bread with butter and some marinated cucumber.

Buckwheat and cabbage stew with sour cream and some marinate cucumber.

 Chocolate ice cream.

2. November

Instant miso and crab rolls that mom brought me.

 Buckwheat and cabbage stew.

Sakeru Gumi peach flavoured. This was really meh and I didn’t really get the idea behind ripping the candy into shreds.

Downward spiral… 27-28. September 2016

27. September

Tom yum flavoured instant noodles with a couple of sausages. I am stuck in the instant noodle trap again; I crave for them constantly.

 An apple.

 A Jäämari chocolate popsicle treat.

Vegetable soup (potato, carrot, corn, peas, spinach) with sour cream.

Apple cake and tea. Recipe I used for the cake (in Estonian) can be found here.

I went to check out a job fair, because the unemployment office told me I should. As expected it was mostly very big companies there recruiting and they weren’t really offering anything I’d be interested in. I kind of hoped that there would be some kind of training companies there offering their services, but I couldn’t find any. I figured a barista training or some seminar on customer service would be good, but yeah, nothing like that was there. I’ll probably ask my unemployment agent about where to maybe find something like that the next time I go to meet her.

28. September

Udon noodles with wakame (had 2 servings).

What the Fruit? Black currant and Cherry smart snack + coffee.

Vegetable soup (potato, carrot, corn, peas, spinach) with sour cream + rye bread with butter.

Tea and Karl Fazer Salty Toffee Crunch in Milk Chocolate.

I had a really bad day. One of these days where everything is bad and goes wrong. I couldn’t write, so I was frustrated. I decided to take a nap to clear my head and ended up missing the one hour window I had to call my doctor to get my blood test results. On top of that the nap was awful, because I had a nightmare and woke up to my own voice screaming for help. I can’t remember what the dream was about, thankfully? Then I somehow managed to take my daily medication twice… also I ate too much and had a headache for most of the day. And in the evening I got the news that my mom had fallen down the stairs and had torn her ankle. Thankfully nothing worse happened to her, but it was still scary news. I ended up having a pretty bad and embarrassing mental breakdown in the evening. Ughhh… I still haven’t quite recovered.
