Back to Tallinn… 7. April 2018

Coffee, fried potatoes and a fried egg with some pickled cucumber.

 Potato wafers and hot cocoa.

 Chocolates.

Couscous salad with garlic sprouts and flatbread with sausage.

Vacation over. We drove back to Tallinn and I spent most of evening taking an online food hygiene course for work. Most of the information in the course was self-evident, but there were some interesting new bits as well when it came to different bacterial infections. For instance I learned that salmonella can also spread via spices and especially with black pepper. I used to think that salmonella was always bound to eggs and chicken meat, but I guess not. At the end I had to take an exam, did quite alright in it and got my certification that certifies that I know to wash my hands :p

Still feeling eugh… 22. March 2018

 Corn flakes with milk.

 Coffee and an apple.

Red curry with beef and some rice from Konteiner. Too sweet, not good at all. Ate maybe a quarter of it?

Mushroom and tofu pho. This was meh, but at least it didn’t taste bad per se. Ate maybe half of it.

 Hot cocoa.

Venezuelan evening… 17. November 2017

 Quark pastries, coffee

 Some persimmon

 Hot cocoa

Arepas with pulled pork and black beans. First time eating arepas, they were super delicious!

A cocktail called El Tico that was super delicious.

 Churros! With dulce de leche!

After work beer: non-alcoholic Kas Te Olete Täna Õhtul Vaba? for boyfriend and Sour Park for me.

So, we had a Latin American event at work and I had almost a 16h shift… or maybe it was longer even, idk, I mean we did go to Koht for a couple of beers afterwards xD I was so tired and overwhelmed most of the time, but hey, I got to try something new and it was amazing! And I am always thrilled when I get churros.

Noms… 27-28. October 2016

A slower day… 21. September 2016

 An apple.

Lunch at Rataskaevu 16. Amazing restaurant this place! I started with this amazing latte.

 Aww 😀

We shared a pumpkin soup with the boyfriend.

Complimentary delicious bread and butter. Also tiny snacks with horseradish I think they were.

Slow-roasted duck leg, hulled barley with leeks and a cherry sauce. This was so good! The duck meat was super tender and the cherry sauce was spot on with everything.

Warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and raspberry-lime sauce. Omnomnom!

 Hot cocoa @ Café More

A cucumber and gin cocktail @ Scotland Yard Pub

Thick meat soup and bread with butter @ Olde Hansa. I also had a jug of mead! Olde Hansa is a fantastic place really. I really enjoyed the meat soup and the atmosphere there.

Strengthened house coffee with whipped cream and St.John’s cake. The coffee was great, but the cake was a bit too gingerbready for me, so boyfriend got to eat that :p

*

Oh gosh. We took a bit of a slower day with our guests without so much walking xD We visited Tallinn City Museum and after that we mostly sat in different cafés and restaurants and did some light souvenir shopping in between. I was in a complete blissful food coma by the end of the day 😀

 Good company 😀

Pub time. Photo by boyfriend. I look so tired.

Great atmosphere and amazing live music @ Olde Hansa

Out and about… 8-10. September 2016

8. September – we drove to Pärnu in the evening to spend the night there. I had a doctors appointment in the morning, so I couldn’t eat any breakfast and a 2 hour drive from Tallinn on an empty stomach would have been awful.

Somen with wakame and wasabi-sesame spice.

A shrimp salad that was kind of meh.

9. September – after my doc’s appointment we had breakfast in my fave restaurant in Pärnu, stopped by my grandmother and drove back to Tallinn. In the evening we visited Marit and her boyfriend. We made sushi and played board games. It was really fun 😀

 Baileys cocoa @ Steffani.

Mamma Mia pizza: tuna, shrimp, ham, egg, champignons.

 Some doughnuts and tea.

Some ice cream from Gelato Ladies: a scoop of pistachio, then salty peanut and watermelon. I loved the pistachio one the best, bf liked the salty peanut… watermelon was odd, it wasn’t bad, but it just tasted a bit weird to us. Sure was interesting though.

 Sushi at friend’s house 😀

10. September – we went to Uulu to help transport firewood for my parents. Bf and my dad did the firewood thing while I picked/harvested some raspberries, apples, tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots and potatoes. Productive day.

Veggie soup (potato, carrot, rutabaga, cauliflower) with sour cream, white bread with mashed avocado and a cup of coffee.

A delicious delicious apple from my grandparent’s garden.

I had several of these bacon and tomato sandwiches with some coffee.
