Ghost in the Shell… 10-11. April 2017

10. April

 Some cereal with milk

 A slice of rhubarb cake

Mushroom soup with bits of bacon @ Koloniaal

Rice noodles with veggie-smoked tofu sauce. There were only tiny bits of bell pepper in the veggie mix, so I thought it would be okay, but boy was I wrong 😦

 Rye bread with sausage

My second attempt of baking sourdough bread didn’t go too well either. The bread didn’t rise and was too mushy inside again, but this time it had formed some fermentation bubble-holes in it, so I guess it’s some progress at least 🙂 I got some tips from expert bread bakers in the family that I am going to try out next time.

11. April

 Coffee and a cranberry kohuke

Four grain porridge with jam @ Koloniaal

A giant chicken Kiev with some salad @ Koloniaal

Apple juice, a pancake with ham and cheese + sour cream and salad @ Pannkoogimaja. Boyfriend gladly ate all the bellpeper in my salad.

We went to see the “Ghost in the Shell” movie in the evening. I absolutely enjoyed it. It was visually stunning and made me nostalgic for the anime. I am so glad that I saw in on the big screen, because of all the beauty and spectacle in it. Good times 🙂

The Bifrost Incident… 7. April 2017

 Rice cereal with milk

Tomato soup with sour cream and mozzarella

 A cheesecake flavoured kohuke

 Buckwheat-cabbage stew with sour cream

A cherry pastry and a chocolate doughnut

I spent the day listening to The Mechanisms album “The Bifrost Incident” on Spotify. I am so in love with it. It’s as if the band had opened my head up, fished around in it for ideas and then wrote this album. It’s brilliant. I had goosebumps and was jumping around the room in excitement while listening to this masterpiece. This hasn’t happened to me in a long while.

Basically, it’s like a story told in a musical form, with different voices singing as different characters. If you are into Norse mythology, steampunk, Lovecraft or all the previously mentioned, be sure to give this album a listen. You can listen or buy the album here or look it up on Spotify 🙂

Kong… 14. March 2017

A banana and soured milk pancake; oatmeal porridge with pumpkin seeds, butter and honey

 A vanilla kohuke

Fried potatoes with eggs, boiled sausages and some marinated cucumber

I spent the day with Miss K shopping at my favourite second-hand store which went really well as I found myself 5 new dresses, new leggings and a skirt 😀 Plus, the company for the usually tedious task of shopping was great too. In the evening we went to see “Kong: Skull Island” with her which was an amazing monster movie 😀 It was visually stunning and in general really good entertainment. Also, my very first reaction I had in the beginning of the movie was kind of hilarious to me. I turned to my friend two minutes into the movie and went: “Wait, is that… Miyavi?!?!?” And behold, it was xD So, the movie had pretty men to look at (Miyavi and Tom Hiddleston) and giant monsters fighting visually epic battles. Also, a certain scene with an octopus made me crave for sushi xD Good movie, go see it when you get a chance 🙂

A lot of good food… 28-29. November 2016

28. November

A lemon kohuke and a cup of coffee

A bit of leftover mushroom soup and a cheese and ham pastry

 Some gummy bears

Dinner with my boyfriend, mom and sister @ Rataskaevu 16. Complimentary bread and butter from the house.

Beef tenderloin with avocado + lightly salted fresh cucumber and a mustard sauce. Shared this with my boyfriend.

Oven baked salmon with potato-chives cream, asparagus and sugar peas

 Cappuccino

Warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream and raspberry-lime sauce

The dinner was a later birthday gift for my mom and it was a lovely time for all of us. I had such a huge food coma afterwards xD
I also had a family doctor’s appointment in the morning and I accepted her offer to prescribe me anti-depressants. My psychiatrist appointment is in February next year and felt I couldn’t just continue for another two months the way I tend to be right now. So I am hoping that the meds will help.

29. November

Bran and seeds porridge with a chopped-up banana and chia seeds. Also, I ate a persimmon.

Sloppy Joes (I had 2 of these) with cheese and guacamole and some cucumber with nuts and seeds

Coffee and cake… 13-14. November 2016

13. November

Oatmeal porridge with a banana and some tangerine slices.

Coffee and a slice of pistachio-orange cake @ Ristikheina Kohvik.

 Coffee and a tangerine kohuke.

Noodle wok and a sandwich with venison roulade.

Apple bread pudding with milk and a cup of tea.

Met up with Josie at Ristikheina Kohvik for some coffee and cake. I finally delivered her the book I had promised to give her for ages. It was a really nice time had 🙂

14. November

 Venison roulade sandwich and coffee.

Instant noodles and a grilled chicken legs.

 Noodle wok with salad.

Apple bread pudding with milk and a cup of coffee.

A pointless day and a nice day with blisters… 5-6. November 2016

5. November

Coffee and a couple of cranberry kohuke.

Rice with Chinese cabbage, sesame seeds and a fried egg.

I ate this entire chocolate ice cream.

Pelmeni with sour cream and salad.

I didn’t do anything useful the entire day. Also I ate too much crap.

At least my vicious little predator is adorable. He jumped smack head first against the window at some point, because a dove got too close xD

6. November

 Coffee and a cranberry kohuke.

Rye bread with butter and sausage; boiled egg with salt.

Japanese style pumpkin curry with rice and salad.

 A banana.

It was so nice and snowy outside, so we decided to go out for a walk. We ended up walking almost 12 km and since it was the first time I wore my winter boots this year and my feet were not used to them, I got a huuuuuge blister under my foot xD It was a really lovely day though.

Spicy and sour soup with zucchini, carrots, rice noodles, a couple of boiled eggs and some wasabi-sesame spice. Also had a couple of kefir bread sandwiches with butter and tomato-garlic filled ham.

Another kohuke with cranberry jam filling and a cup of coffee.
