TotalBiscuit… 25. May 2018

Greek yoghurt with fig jam.

Lemon-lime ice cream.

Okinawa Chinsuko cookies. Shortbread cookies with kokuto sugar. These were yummy.

Coffee and grilled sandwiches with Nutella.

A green smoothie.

Tomato soup with orzo and sour cream.

Coffee and shared treats with hubby: super fluffy kinako mochi that was delicious, fruit pound cake that was excessively sweet, so I let my hubby have it, and sweet potato cookie that was okay tasting.

I read the news that John “ToatlBiscuit” Bain died after a long battle with cancer and it shook me more than I expected it would. I listened to his podcast called Co-Optional for the past 6 or 7 years and enjoyed when he and his wife Genna snarked over different game award shows or reviewed snack boxes together etc. I don’t think I would have called myself his fan, but he was in a way part of my life for years and even though I never met him in person, I got to know him through his shows and social media. So, it hurt a lot when I learned he had died and at such a young age as well- he was only 33! I cried for a bit, reading people writing up their memories about him, ate a lot of comfort food and then went to sleep and slept most of the day, because fuck, I didn’t feel like doing anything after this. I was grieving.

Cake… 24. May 2018

Potato-cauliflower-minced meat casserole.

Coffee and an almond pastry.

Dorachoko. Tiny chocolate dorayaki. It was yummy.

Potato-cauliflower-minced meat casserole.

Cold brew coffee and Nutella cake.

… 1. May 2018

Multigrain porridge with pumpkin seeds, beef jerky and butter; flat bread with sausage and pickled cucumber.

Milk chocolate covered crunchy cashew marshmallow. This was super delicious!

 Grilled flatbread with ham.

Some beetroot-pork sausages and salad. The sausages were crappy tasting with weird bitter and sweet undertones. Didn’t like them at all.

 Flatbread with Nutella.

I also had some chocolate in the middle of the night.

Homechill… 29. April 2018

Kefir pancakes with Nutella, peanut butter and banana.

 An apple.

Mushroom pelmeni with salad and sour cream.

Some senbei I shared with hubby.

Sakura Love black tea. The package of this tea was adorable. Tea was nice too.

Isle of Dogs… 22. April 2018

Enoki mushroom-broccolini miso soup and a grilled sandwich with ham, cheese and tomato.

 Two Nutella sandwiches.

Garlic tomato soup with quinoa and tortellini.

In the evening we went to see “Isle of Dogs” with hubby. WOW what a masterpiece of a movie! It was so beautiful, heart-warming and humorous. I enjoyed it immensely! And to think how much work went into this movie! My respect to all the artists who worked on this 🙂

More festival food… 3. September 2017

Breakfast: a cucumber sandwich, butter-honey sandwich and a sammich with Nutella.

I went to the Uue Maailma Festival again, because I wanted to get my boyfriend one of these amazing profiteroles as well. Since I was already there I decided to get another churro, because they are delicious and you can’t get them anytime.

I wanted to buy one churro, but got two, because they offered me one for free xD Yay! It’s good to have friends in high places :p

Deep fried sprats. I am usually not very fond of sprats, but served this way, they were quite tasty if only a bit too oily.

Dinner: tomato soup with black rice, quinoa and sour cream + a slice of bread I got from the festival.

I got myself another lush pastry cream filled profiterole as well, because good food makes life worth living. Good food also makes you fat, but eh…

I also got my boyfriend a couple of bottles of Seto Kali, because it’s naturally fermented, tastes great and you also can’t get it from many places. For myself, I bought a wolf bone pendant that you can see here if you are interested.
