Bags under my eyes are here to stay… 15-16. May 2017

15. May

 A banana

 Peanut butter energy bar

 Pelmeni with sour cream

 Spaghetti with tuna-veggie sauce

I went and picked up my new ID-card at the police office. I hoped that the bags under my eyes would be less visible on the light photo on the ID, but they are quite very much there. I guess I just should somehow try to accept that the bags are there to stay. You can’t fight your genes I suppose.

16. May

A couple of bananas and a cup of coffee

 Bacon-onion pastry

Four grain porridge with berries @ Koloniaal

Roasted eggplant soup and some coriander bread @ Koloniaal

 Strawberry-rhubarb juice

Whipped quark with strawberries and chocolate syrup

 A cherry-apple pastry

Lamb stew with a potato and some carrot @ Koloniaal

I worked all day and basically went to sleep as soon as I got home xD

Adulting is so hard… 7-8. May 2017

7. May

 Smoothie

Coffee and oatmeal porridge with honey

A quark pastry and a sausage pastry and a cup of coffee @ Narva Kohvik. Didn’t get yelled at there this time xD

Beef chili with rice and sour cream

 Ice cream from McDonalds

I hung out with Eva for some time during the day. We walked a lot and had coffee in Narva Kohvik. Was chill and nice.

In the evening, I suggested to my boyfriend that we should get out the bikes for the first time and go to Rocca al Mare for some soft serve ice cream. They had a store there that served decent soft ice cream. The bike ride was great, but when we got to our destination, it turned out that the shop had been replaced by a butcher stall D: I was so disappointed! Therefore, we went and got ice cream from McDonalds. It wasn’t as good, but since it had been our mission to get ice cream, it would have been sad to return home without having any.

Also, speaking of bikes… the rats had eaten my bike handles D: Look!:

8. May

Fresh Freddie coconut, spelt, mint and dark chocolate bar which was delicious + coffee

Four grain porridge with butter and honey

Jäämari peanut-butter cherry popsicle. It’s a curse having them for sale at the place I work, because I want to buy and eat them all xD

A pancake with banana and honey

Mulk’s porridge (mashed potatoes with pearl barley), grilled chicken leg and orange lemonade

I was dead tired after work, so I passed out on the couch almost instantly after I got home xD Boyfriend was a saviour and brought home dinner.

Café time… 4. February 2017

 Buckwheat porridge with raspberry jam

Coffee and a pancake with bacon and cheese filling @ Koloniaal

A banana with peanut butter, puffed rice and puffed honey wheat

Mashed potatoes with mushroom sauce and some salad

My boyfriend took his nephew to see a BMX competition (Simple Session) and since I had no interest in joining them, but didn’t really want to sit at home alone either, I decided to go out for a walk and maybe check out a few cafés I had thought about sending my CV’s to, but hadn’t done so yet, because I couldn’t really tell via Facebook what they were like. I am a bit specific on the places where I’d like to work.

I walked around Telliskivi area for a while and found a couple of new cafés where I’d like to know if they are maybe hiring. Eventually I plopped down for some lunch and a cup of coffee at a place called Koloniaal that is part bakery, part organic food store, part café. The pancake was great and the coffee good too. I ended up sitting there for several hours and reading a book. It was really cosy. I have always wanted to do that: go to a café and read a book, but I have never actually done it. Well at least not as far as I can remember. The café in my university doesn’t count, because that was usually out of necessity rather than pleasure.

Later I pondered over the café visit and the fact that I did something I’ve been fantasizing about for ages. I wonder if this, the fact that I am willing to step out of my comfort zone, means I am doing a bit better? I mean, I do go to cafés often, but usually not alone and if I do go alone, it’s usually to grab a quick bite or buy coffee to go, not to sit there for hours to read or whatnot.

Anyway, it was a new experience. I hope to do something like that again soon.

Walking and baking and partying… 9-10. Dec 2016

9. December

 A persimmon for breakfast

I baked a peanut butter brownie (after this recipe) and had a few slices for lunch

Spicy coconut milk soup with shrimp, tofu and rice noodles

We went to our local television studio with the boyfriend to rent some costumes for the upcoming Christmas party at his work. The theme of the party is 20’s fashion and the lady working at the costume department found us costumes in a snap. It was amazing how she just looked us up and down and then picked out the clothes from the long lines of costumes and they fit just right. We didn’t even consider trying on anything other than she picked out for us. Must be years of experience dressing people 😀

10. December

 Omelette and salted cucumber

Party foods:

Crab rolls, deviled eggs, sült (head cheese)

 Veggies and dip

 Meats and sausages

 Sandwich cake

 Meatballs and chicken wings

 Paté stuffed buns

I ate a bit of everything 😛

Quark stuffed pastry (had 2 of these), a slice of peanut butter brownie and coffee. I ended up drinking about 3 cups of coffee near midnight xD

I slept in in the morning, so I didn’t get much done that I wanted. I had planned to do the dishes and clean a bit, but instead I decided to laze in bed with a headache. Eh. Eventually I got up. Then we went to the store to get some groceries and also bought stuff to donate to the food bank. Back at home, I baked another one of these peanut butter brownies and then my boyfriend’s brother came and picked us up to go shopping for presents for our friends. Going to shopping centres is crazy right now; so many people 😦

It took us a couple of hours to find what we needed (+ I scored a cute candle holder, a new kettle and a hexbug cat toy) and then we headed to the birthday party we had been invited to. The party was pretty fun and we got back home around 3am in the morning.

Two quiet days… 6-7. Dec 2016

6. December

Porridge with honey and peanut butter.

Oven baked potatoes, beef sült (head cheese), smoked Baltic herring, salad with bok choy and a cottage cheese salad with sour cream and dill. Boyfriend was cooking again 😀

7. December

Porridge with honey and peanut butter

Rice with pumpkin seeds and miso soup with wakame and egg over it. Also, some salad with salted cucumber and garlic.

 Caramel waffle cake and tea

I have access to Photobucket again (for now at least), so let’s catch up with food and life, shall we?… 25-26. October 2016

25. October

Pumpkin banana bread with pumpkin seeds and peanut butter nibs and a cup of coffee.

Rice with sprats and soy sauce.

Mashed potatoes with pumpkin, tomato-cucumber salad with sour cream, grilled chicken thighs. I only ate one of the chicken thighs, because the second one tasted off.

Pureral gummy. These gummies were okay-ish. I wouldn’t really ever buy them myself, but would not refuse if offered to me somewhere.

I spent most of the day in bed, having anxious thoughts about the approaching job interview I have and just worrying over potentially terrible jobs in my future. Not a good day I guess.

26. October

Vanilla quark with some oat cereal and an apple. Also had a cup of coffee.

Spicy and sour soup with rice noodles, carrots, champignons and zucchini.

Kefir bread with peanut butter and some banana.

I was doing somewhat better that day, even managed to drag my ass to the gym in the evening. So, yay?
