[what I ate.] 8-14. October 2018

8. October

A delicious cup of coffee before work @ The Living Room café. I had the Guatemala one. It was divine.

A slice of mushroom-bacon pizza and some chickpea-veggie soup with sour cream.

Almond-cardamom pastry.

Japanese style pork curry with rice and some pickles.

Some delicious candies.

9. October

I had a crappy morning, thus coffee and candy in a dreary bust stop on my way to work.

Chili sin carne with brown rice.

Coffee and a banana-chocolate muffin.

Japanese style pork curry with rice.

10. October – Concert in Helsinki

Yummy blueberry-raspberry yoghurt and a crappy salmon-shrimp salad on our way to Helsinki.

Chicken tofu bowl for lunch. Hubby had beef.

Dinner @ Zetor. I had sautéed reindeer with mashed potatoes, lingonberries and pickles. It was absolutely delicious. The meat was super soft and the flavour lush.

A peanut butter-chocolate chip filled taiyaki. So good!

11. October – Back to Tallinn

Epic buffet on the boat: croissants, mini doughnuts, coffee, beer, bulgur-edamame salad, ham, cold smoked salmon, some tomato and cucumber, pickles, meatballs, beetroot-oatmeal balls, scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, baked salmon. Everything was super good, except the bulgur-edamame salad which was flavourless and the meatballs that were a bit dry.

More coffee, chocolate mousse, vanilla ice cream and chocolate ice cream. I added some strawberry jam which was yummy and bean “crisps” that were not so very good xD

Japanese style pork curry with rice.

A caffé latte and a red velvet coconut ball @ Surf Café

Salmon soup.

Coffee and a cookie-hazelnut-chocolate truffle.

Bacon-garlic-cheese pastry.

Tonkotsu soy ramen and Midori Illusion cocktail (Midori Liqueur, Triple Sec, vodka, lemon juice, pineapple juice) @ Washoku Story.

Shared this cheesecake with Kerttu @ a neighboring café of which I can’t remember the name of 8D

A yuzu mocktail and a crappy-ish coffee at the same place.

More coffee and a couple of these cookie-hazelnut-chocolate truffles.

Boiled potatoes with chanterelle sauce and some pickled cucumber. Also had a grape-banana smoothie.

14. October

Boiled potatoes with chanterelle sauce.

Coffee, a grilled sandwich with cheese and sausage.

Toast and scallop carpaccio at my parents’ house.

Pasta with scallops and chorizo.

Berry triffle.

[what I ate.] 13-19. August 2018

13. August – meeting up with Anna

Two ham sandwiches.

Cocktails and beer @ NOK NOK with Anna. My cocktail was called Foxtail and it consisted of whisky, pumpkin, carrot, pineapple and ginger. It was delicious.

Laab Gai (spicy chicken salad with mint, roasted rice powder and red onion) and I had a few bites of Anna’s Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce).

Soymilk pudding with fruit salad. The food was simply delicious and the service exemplary 😀

Oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant + some cucumber salad.

14. August – playing with glass

Leftover oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant.

Some candy. I went to a glass workshop with Kadi which was super fun. It was cool to learn how to cut glass etc.

Hazelnut ice cream. Kadi had a cherry popsicle.

Seafood risotto and some salad.

15. August

Beetroot soup with sunflower seeds and a cheese pastry.

Rye bread with garlic butter.

Oven omelette, rye bread with butter and some salad.

Shared with hubby: orange cake (that was yummy) and a lemon flavoured twice-baked slice of baguette (which was also tasty).

More shared goodies: a delicious crunchy senbei and some rich orange biscuits that tasted okay.

16. August

A cheese pastry.

Some delicious rye bread.

A pastry with red currant jam.

Magnum double peanut butter chocolate.

Baked potatoes and chicken with some cucumber.

Shared snacks with hubby: Strawberry Pukupukutai (cute and yummy!), soybean rice crackers (I loved the crackers, wasn’t a fan of the included peanuts), honey castella cake (this was weird and moist, but tasty I guess), chocolate-banana cookie (that was okay).

17. August – meeting up with Eva

Tuna-cottage cheese pie and some salad.

Hazelnut pastry, cheese roll and some coffee.

Dinner with Eva @ NOK NOK. Started with some cocktails. Mine was called Golden Emerald and it consisted of rum, lime, green apple, cucumber and matcha. It was super tasty and refreshing.

We shared a Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce) and Gae Tod Prik Thai Dum (crispy fried lamb with black pepper sauce). The rice was complimentary with the dishes.

Then I had Tom Yum Goong (spicy prawn and mushroom soup) that was super spicy and great.

18. August

Tuna sandwich.

Coffee and fig in chocolate.

Instant noodles with sour cream.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

Some grapes.

19. August

Porridge with strawberry jam.

An orange lollypop.

A beef burger. The burger itself was good but was ruined by the bbq sauce they added as it overwhelmed all tastes.

Nuts and seeds in dark chocolate.

Coffee, figs in chocolate.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

Homechill… 29. April 2018

Kefir pancakes with Nutella, peanut butter and banana.

 An apple.

Mushroom pelmeni with salad and sour cream.

Some senbei I shared with hubby.

Sakura Love black tea. The package of this tea was adorable. Tea was nice too.

And I fell ill… 20. March 2018

I had a mild headache in the morning but didn’t think much of it and went to work. However, I started feeling gradually worse during my commute to work, so I had a terrible headache, dizziness and cold shivers when I got to work. Such a bummer. This is the worst timing ever, right before my vacation next week. Ugh.

I took a taxi home and spent most of the day sleeping.

Very late breakfast around 4pm: nettle rye bread with butter and ham and lukewarm coffee that was left over from morning. Since I felt so sick in the morning I didn’t manage to drink my coffee then and I really didn’t have the energy to make a new pot.

We ordered in dinner, because in no way was I going to manage to cook. I had some rice and super spicy kimchi stew from Gotsu, Kyuho’s Kitchen. The spices warmed me up nicely.

A few pieces of this peanut butter oreo chocolate. I didn’t like this very much, which is weird, because how can you go wrong with chocolate and peanut butter?

Therapy… 4. September 2017

 Two cucumber sandwiches for breakfast

A milk chocolate trilobite that I got from the Estonian Museum of Natural History a while ago. Finally decided to eat the cute thing :p

An apple and some cardamom biscuits

Tomato soup with black rice, quinoa and sour cream; two sandwiches with cucumber, tomato and some ham

Teekanne Lemon Cake tea and a sandwich with crunchy peanut butter. I am not a big fan of that particular tea, but I am a sucker for odd things and want to try weird flavours, so this is why I got it initially. The lemony flavour of it is okay, but there is another flavour nuance next to it that makes it taste off for me. Perhaps it’s the cake part of the tea that I don’t like xD

So, I am going to therapy now. Once a week for the foreseeable future. So far it doesn’t feel any different than going to a psychologist, but then again, I think the therapist is still getting to know me. We’ll see how it goes.

Wonder Woman… 20-21. June 2017

20. June

Peanuts in chocolate and some coffee

Wrap with bacon and some sweet potato fries

A potato-nettle cutlet my mom made, some venison sausages and rice with broccoli sauce

Tea and strawberries in matcha chocolate

21. June

Coffee, fried venison sausages and eggs

Banana and a peanut butter chocolate chip Lärabar

A meat pastry, potato-mushroom cutlet and some water kimchi

We went to see Wonder Woman in the evening. I think it was wonderful. Best DC superhero movie so far.

End of the trip… 26-27. May 2017

26. May

Breakfast at the hostel: waffles with peanut butter and Nutella, sausage sandwich, some cheese, a boiled egg and a cup of coffee

 More waffles and some fruit

 Iced lattes

 Chocolate-coffee cake

 Some sandwiches for dinner

*

Second day in Uppsala. We did more walking around the town and visited The Uppsala University Palaeontology Museum, which was awesome. All these old animal and dinosaur bones and fossils were fascinating… and also really really scary to me xD History frightens me and I get scared in museums, even though I absolutely love visiting those places.

In the evening, we caught another overnight boat back to Estonia. It was a great trip, I loved it a lot. Sweden is a beautiful country and I am absolutely in love with their nature and landscape.

 Birdie caught a wormie

 Mummified cat O_O

How cute is that depiction of the fossil?

This is why I am afraid of the water

 A dragon skull from Russia

 What dinosaurs actually looked like

27. May

A banana and a coconut bar in milk chocolate

Porridge with honey and some coffee

Pelmeni in chicken bouillon with some sour cream

Delicious raspberry juice I bought in Sweden

*

We got back home and unpacked. I took a long nap and then I spent the rest of the evening baking some cakes for the open gardens café event during the Pelgulinna street festival the next day.

 Also, Loki helped me unpack

Bags under my eyes are here to stay… 15-16. May 2017

15. May

 A banana

 Peanut butter energy bar

 Pelmeni with sour cream

 Spaghetti with tuna-veggie sauce

I went and picked up my new ID-card at the police office. I hoped that the bags under my eyes would be less visible on the light photo on the ID, but they are quite very much there. I guess I just should somehow try to accept that the bags are there to stay. You can’t fight your genes I suppose.

16. May

A couple of bananas and a cup of coffee

 Bacon-onion pastry

Four grain porridge with berries @ Koloniaal

Roasted eggplant soup and some coriander bread @ Koloniaal

 Strawberry-rhubarb juice

Whipped quark with strawberries and chocolate syrup

 A cherry-apple pastry

Lamb stew with a potato and some carrot @ Koloniaal

I worked all day and basically went to sleep as soon as I got home xD
