13. August – meeting up with Anna

Two ham sandwiches.

Cocktails and beer @ NOK NOK with Anna. My cocktail was called Foxtail and it consisted of whisky, pumpkin, carrot, pineapple and ginger. It was delicious.

Laab Gai (spicy chicken salad with mint, roasted rice powder and red onion) and I had a few bites of Anna’s Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce).

Soymilk pudding with fruit salad. The food was simply delicious and the service exemplary 😀

Oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant + some cucumber salad.

14. August – playing with glass

Leftover oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant.

Some candy. I went to a glass workshop with Kadi which was super fun. It was cool to learn how to cut glass etc.

Hazelnut ice cream. Kadi had a cherry popsicle.

Seafood risotto and some salad.

15. August

Beetroot soup with sunflower seeds and a cheese pastry.

Rye bread with garlic butter.

Oven omelette, rye bread with butter and some salad.

Shared with hubby: orange cake (that was yummy) and a lemon flavoured twice-baked slice of baguette (which was also tasty).

More shared goodies: a delicious crunchy senbei and some rich orange biscuits that tasted okay.

16. August

A cheese pastry.

Some delicious rye bread.

A pastry with red currant jam.

Magnum double peanut butter chocolate.

Baked potatoes and chicken with some cucumber.

Shared snacks with hubby: Strawberry Pukupukutai (cute and yummy!), soybean rice crackers (I loved the crackers, wasn’t a fan of the included peanuts), honey castella cake (this was weird and moist, but tasty I guess), chocolate-banana cookie (that was okay).

17. August – meeting up with Eva

Tuna-cottage cheese pie and some salad.

Hazelnut pastry, cheese roll and some coffee.

Dinner with Eva @ NOK NOK. Started with some cocktails. Mine was called Golden Emerald and it consisted of rum, lime, green apple, cucumber and matcha. It was super tasty and refreshing.

We shared a Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce) and Gae Tod Prik Thai Dum (crispy fried lamb with black pepper sauce). The rice was complimentary with the dishes.

Then I had Tom Yum Goong (spicy prawn and mushroom soup) that was super spicy and great.

18. August

Tuna sandwich.

Coffee and fig in chocolate.

Instant noodles with sour cream.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

Some grapes.

19. August

Porridge with strawberry jam.

An orange lollypop.

A beef burger. The burger itself was good but was ruined by the bbq sauce they added as it overwhelmed all tastes.

Nuts and seeds in dark chocolate.

Coffee, figs in chocolate.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

We got married!… 28. March 2018

Sorry for being absent for a while, but life got busy and then I wasn’t at home for a long period of time. My boyfriend of 8 years and I got married on our anniversary 😀

 Quick morning breakfast was rice and miso soup.

After I picked up our wedding cake and boyfriend went and got me a bouquet of flowers, we headed to the cornily nicknamed Happiness Palace to get married. It was just the two of us as it’s how we wanted to do it. It was our anniversary which has always been a private event for us.

Before the ceremony we had a photographer take some photos for us at the waiting room:

After the photography session, we had a short meeting with our wedding officiator about the proceedings. Apparently a simple ceremony is customary for everyone even if you just are there to sign the papers :p We agreed on a few sweet words and then for the marriage contract to be read to us as the ceremony proceedings.

A sweet touch that we added was that we brought our own music for the ceremony (because apparently if you didn’t you would get Beatles on a pan flute xD). We picked this song – Dir en grey “Ain’t afraid to die” – and it gave us many a giggle when it started playing in the ceremony room:

 I was so nervous I hardly remember what was said to us during the ceremony xD

After the ceremony we went to a restaurant called Mimosa to have lunch.

 Kali and a mimosa.

 Snack selection – hummus, smoked fish mousse, two-fish cheviche, beef tartar, cheese. All of this was super delicious.

 Hubby ate their daily special (cutlets and vegetable gratin) and I had a green salad with fried mushrooms, crispy carrot and an oven-baked tomato sauce which was also very tasty.

After lunch we drove to Laulasmaa Spa for a day of bathing and relaxation. First we started by eating some of our wedding cake at our hotel room:

 Raspberry-cream cheese brownie cake from Killuke Kooki.

 There was also a fruit and chocolate platter waiting for us in our room 😀

Anyhow, then I got a foot procedure and afterwards there was a massage session for the both of us. All super relaxing. Later we enjoyed the rest of the spa- bubble baths, an onsen, salt sauna and steam sauna etc.

 Our day ended with a three-course meal in their local restaurant called Wicca. Hubby’s mocktail and my cocktail.

 This was a greeting appetizer Baltic herring. Sadly, it wasn’t very good, but mostly because I don’t enjoy this type of fish very much.

 Main appetizer- slow-cooked beef liver, spicy plum jam, pickled red onion, sea-buckthorn meringue and rhubarb meringue. The liver was oh so tender and lovely.

 Main course- potato and leek croquettes, mushroom cream and wild mushrooms. This was delicious, albeit the croquettes being a bit too oily for my liking.

 Dessert was coffee and an ice-cold cream cheesecake on raspberry cookie with raspberry sauce. Super yummy. Indrek had a crumbly pastry basket with vanilla cream and currant compote.

It was a lovely and a memorable day 😀

Slow healing… 1-2. January 2017

1. January

 Pancakes with chocolate spread

 Coffee and chocolate cake that my mom made

 Mashed potatoes with duck meat, some salad and marinated pumpkin

2. January

 Leftover breakfast: a couple of fried eggs, some mashed potatoes with duck meat and a pancake

 We had dinner @ Da Vinci, because I felt too groggy to cook. I had a cappuccino with whipped cream and cocoa powder.

 Another one with ham and mushrooms

My idea was to eat at the restaurant not to get take away so we wouldn’t have to get disposable plastic containers. However, I ended up not managing to finish my entire pizza, so we had them pack it for us to go… so yeah, fail xD

This illness, I and my boyfriend got struck with, seems to be long winding. It has been way over a week now and we are still both struggling with the symptoms. Granted, it has gotten so much better, but I am still snotty and get a headache when I move more and my boyfriend still sometimes has a small fever.
