[what I ate.] 14-23. December 2018

Whoopsie! Holidays happened and I cut my finger and needed to get stitches and then I had some rough times at work, so this is why I fell behind with posting again. Welp, time to catch up 😀

14. December

Coffee, marzipan pastry.

Chicken curry.

Chicken curry and a coconut yoghurt drink. The drink was great and had actual pieces of coconut in it which was cool.

15. December – Escape Room

Chicken nugget wrap. Coffee.

Fried squid with dip at Noya. We crashed this restaurant after going to a Leonardo DaVinci inspired escape room. Most dishes we had were shared among all of us.

Mediocre beef tartar and super yummy salmon tartar with avocado.

Hubby ate a waguy “burger”. It was alright. Good beef served with lame bread.

I really liked the tempura mushrooms and white fish. The soup was a Nordic style “ramen” where noodles were replaced with strips of squid. The ramen concept was cool, but I only ate a few bites, because the entire thing was inedible salty. Both I and another girl sent these dishes back 😦

The kitchen sent us some tasty yellowtail tataki as an apology. That was a sweet gesture of them.

My replacement dish for the ramen was Nordic shrimp “tacos.” They were okay I guess, but I would in no way call these tacos xD

In general, Noya left me feeling a bit meh… there were some tasty treats and some failures, but in the end, I felt it was too pricey, especially considering that I was still kind of hungry after sharing all the food (as the restaurant concept suggested). Not worth all the hype I have been hearing about this place, sadly.

Puchitto Soda candies. An amusing treat. (I bought a computer pad 😀 Had to show it off, because I am so happy with my newfound ability to now comfortably read fanfiction in bed 😀 )

16. December

Porridge with butter and a ham sandwich.

A smoothie with bananas and blueberries.

Blood sausages and some salad.

CocoRolls coconut wafers. These were yummy.

17. December – Dad’s birthday

Some honey cake scraps :p

Pasta with minced meat.

Some marinated lamprey, potato salad and toast with ham.

Lung pastries.

18. December

Coffee, a poppyseed pastry.

Beetroot risotto.

Erm… some soup and a tiny taco shell canape with veggies.

Syrniki and some cocoa.

19. December – Sister’s birthday

Mashed potatoes with pork sauce.

A strawberry milkshake.

Mashed potatoes, roast pork and marinated cucumber.

Gelatoooooooo

Some mess of a pavlova cake :p It was delicious though!

20. December

Some tomatoes, roast duck and some turmeric-onion bread.

Instant noodles.

21. December – Stitches

Red velvet cake and coffee.

Mashed potatoes with pork sauce.

Coffee with whipped cream @ Da Vinci. I cut my finger badly while baking cookies. Hubby took me to ER, I got stitched up and then he took me to a consolation dinner.

Gnocci in mushroom sauce. Nom!

22. December

Honey cereal with milk, coffee.

Potato chips.

Grapes.

Mini Tosca cakes.

Cheese cookies.

Metsapiiga raspberry beer. It was a bit too sweet, but okay tasting otherwise.

Chocolates.

Rice with beef, soy sauce and sour cream.

23. December

Coffee, caramel doughnut.

Rice with salmon ochazuke.

Sushi and shrimp dumplings.

26. November

Veggie soup with sour cream.

Coffee, grilled sandwich with sausage and cheese.

Toast, poached egg and salad with tuna.

Shared snacks with hubby: Hokkaido cheese mochi (from Niigata prefecture), matcha dorayaki (from Tokyo), Gogo no Koucha milk tea cake (from Tokyo) and Matcha chocolate coated pecans (from Tokyo). The mochi puffs were yummy, and so were the dorayaki and the milk tea cake. The pecans were not my thing.

27. November

Porridge with chia seeds, raspberry bits and some tangerine.

Spicy instant noodles with sour cream. Not as spicy as I expected and kind of sweet tasting which I didn’t like.

Fried potato salad with pea crisps and fancy dried sausage.

Apple pie with ice cream.

28. November

Coffee, apple pie with ice cream.

Vegetable lasagna scraps with some salad.

Salad with tuna and avocado.

Coffee and rice crackers inspired by the fall of leaves (from Saitama prefecture). Pretty and yummy.

29. November

Nettle smoothie.

A salad with fried potatoes, boiled egg and tuna.

Almond flour chocolate-banana cake.

Omelette with spinach and dried ham, and mozzarella salad.

Coffee and almond chocolate.

30. November

Coffee and a cheese roll.

Chickpea-lentil curry with sour cream and some tomato.

Quark pastry.

Coffee, poppyseed pastry and some tangerine.

Minced meat-vegetable casserole.

1. December

Some pomelo.

Minced meat-vegetable casserole.

Coffee, Lips gummies with collagen. These were gross tasting and coated my teeth in a paraffin-y feel.

Party foods- sandwich cake, salad, snacks.

Cake and alcohol.

Jalapeno beer that I didn’t like and some biscuit cake.

2. December

Coffee, Greek yoghurt with persimmon, dried blueberries and raspberries, and caramelised sunflower seeds. Also had two tasty cookies.

Tea, vegan chocolate cake that Maarja brought 🙂

Roasted corn.

3. December

Hazelnut pastry.

Milk soup with pasta and a beef ham sandwich.

Coffee, oatmeal porridge with strawberry jam.

Three doughnuts I shared with Kadi.

French fries, fried chicken and beer @ Naganana.

Quinoa-tuna salad. I tried the cappuccino drink, but didn’t like it, so hubby drank it.

Tiny Kit Kat bites. The hazelnut and salted caramel ones were the best. The double cocoa one was a bit too intense.

13. August – meeting up with Anna

Two ham sandwiches.

Cocktails and beer @ NOK NOK with Anna. My cocktail was called Foxtail and it consisted of whisky, pumpkin, carrot, pineapple and ginger. It was delicious.

Laab Gai (spicy chicken salad with mint, roasted rice powder and red onion) and I had a few bites of Anna’s Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce).

Soymilk pudding with fruit salad. The food was simply delicious and the service exemplary 😀

Oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant + some cucumber salad.

14. August – playing with glass

Leftover oven omelette with mushrooms, tomato and eggplant.

Some candy. I went to a glass workshop with Kadi which was super fun. It was cool to learn how to cut glass etc.

Hazelnut ice cream. Kadi had a cherry popsicle.

Seafood risotto and some salad.

15. August

Beetroot soup with sunflower seeds and a cheese pastry.

Rye bread with garlic butter.

Oven omelette, rye bread with butter and some salad.

Shared with hubby: orange cake (that was yummy) and a lemon flavoured twice-baked slice of baguette (which was also tasty).

More shared goodies: a delicious crunchy senbei and some rich orange biscuits that tasted okay.

16. August

A cheese pastry.

Some delicious rye bread.

A pastry with red currant jam.

Magnum double peanut butter chocolate.

Baked potatoes and chicken with some cucumber.

Shared snacks with hubby: Strawberry Pukupukutai (cute and yummy!), soybean rice crackers (I loved the crackers, wasn’t a fan of the included peanuts), honey castella cake (this was weird and moist, but tasty I guess), chocolate-banana cookie (that was okay).

17. August – meeting up with Eva

Tuna-cottage cheese pie and some salad.

Hazelnut pastry, cheese roll and some coffee.

Dinner with Eva @ NOK NOK. Started with some cocktails. Mine was called Golden Emerald and it consisted of rum, lime, green apple, cucumber and matcha. It was super tasty and refreshing.

We shared a Som Tom Thai (raw papaia salad with shrimp, peanuts and tamarind sauce) and Gae Tod Prik Thai Dum (crispy fried lamb with black pepper sauce). The rice was complimentary with the dishes.

Then I had Tom Yum Goong (spicy prawn and mushroom soup) that was super spicy and great.

18. August

Tuna sandwich.

Coffee and fig in chocolate.

Instant noodles with sour cream.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

Some grapes.

19. August

Porridge with strawberry jam.

An orange lollypop.

A beef burger. The burger itself was good but was ruined by the bbq sauce they added as it overwhelmed all tastes.

Nuts and seeds in dark chocolate.

Coffee, figs in chocolate.

Sour and spicy soup with quinoa and mushrooms.

9. July

Instant noodles.

Potato-quinoa cutlet with some salad.

Whipped cream and quark with strawberries.

10. July – Iron Man

Oatmeal porridge with chia seeds, roasted sunflowers seeds and some strawberries. Also had some coffee.

Potato-quinoa cutlet with a poached egg, some lettuce and avocado.

An iced mocha treat after another doctor appointment.

I made cheeseburgers and fries for our movie night. We watched Iron Man (2008) with Kadi and Miss K, so the food was thematic 😀

11. July

Porridge with carrots and chia seeds. Also, some coffee.

Oven baked risotto with mushrooms, green beans and seeds.

A smoothie with berries and kama.

Creamy pasta with mushrooms, cashews and beef.

12. July

Moring coffee. I am trying to learn how to draw a wheat/rye ear like pattern on the coffee to suit the bakery.

A bit of spinach smoothie.

Smoothie with rhubarb, strawberries and ginger; tomato-bell pepper soup and a cheese pastry.

Beetroot smoothie.

Dinner with Marit at Mister Kebab: I had beef kofta, some dolma and a green cola.

Iced brownie coffee cocktail.

13. July

Pear and kiwi smoothie with spirulina. This was alright.

Baked potatoes and tomato with salad.

Coffee and a raw buckwheat smoothie with black currants.

Black currant-chocolate roll and a fish pastry.

Chocolate ice cream.

Tiina jelly sticks in chocolate. So good!

Baked breaded fish.

14. July

Grilled sandwich with cheese and ham. Also, some coffee.

Cucumber sprite. Nice cucumber flavour and very refreshing, but a tad bit too sweet.

Potato chips and guacamole.

Baked potatoes with fish tacos.

15. July – Hulk

Pelmeni.

Super Mario wheat in chocolate.

Kadi brought me this gummy candy.

We watched “The Incredible Hulk” (2008) with Kadi and Miss K and had a “green” themed dinner: Couscous salad, kiwi-spinach smoothie, pistachio halva, broccoli snacks, tortilla chips with guacamole and Kadi made a green marzipan Hulk :p

Marzipan Hulk has a big “zucchini” :p

We also made green chocolates and had pistachio ice cream. The movie was kind of meh, but the dinner was superb xD

11. June – Deadpool

Milk chocolate marshmallow with crunchy cashew; Cold kefir soup with beetroot.

Mashed potatoes with wild garlic and some salad.

Frozen yoghurt with chocolates and berries.

More mashed potatoes with wild garlic and some salad.

We went to see “Deadpool 2” in the evening. It was brilliantly funny!
