Chicken karaage and udon noodles with nattou. It was my first ever time to try nattou and I thought it was alright. I think I would like it more with rice though rather than in a noodle soup. Honestly, I expected to hate it from all the stories I have heard of these fermented soy beans :p I didn’t mind the slimy texture at all and the taste was alright.

My lovely dinner date, Marit! ♥

Matcha cheesecake. So fluffy and delicious!

Some fresh orange-carrot juice, more of the cheese pastry and “tom kha” soup 🙂 Technically this was a carrot-tomato soup with coconut milk, so calling it a Thai soup would be wrong, but eh xD

Sweet cherries.

Adorable tea package… 28. February 2018

Coffee, a sourdough bread sandwich with salted salmon and then a cheese cookie.

Sauerkraut stew with potatoes and carrots.

A quark pastry (kohupiimakorp).

Vegan ice cream tasting. I’m not too sure about the ice creams, but that’s perhaps because they were too frozen and hard. The sorbet was delicious tho.

Hot and sour soup with mushrooms and quinoa. A sandwich with feta, avocado and tomato.

White peach tea. It was okay, a bit too artificial flavouring tasting to my likes. The package was cute tho.

Finally… 9-10. May 2017

9. May

A salad with soybeans and chickpeas + some coffee

Jäämari chocolate popsicle and more coffee

 Pasta carbonara

I made a vegetable casserole for dinner, but forgot to snap a photo of it. Oops 😦

10. May

 Cocoa pudding

 A smoothie

Chicken cutlets with sesame seeds and cheese; tom yum flavoured instant noodles with sour cream

Toast with salted salmon, salad and avocado @ Grenka

 Chocolate fondant with ice cream

I had a strange day xD First I slept for almost 11 hours at night which was great, I felt good in the morning. Then I went to get myself a new ID card which went quicker than I expected it to. Went and got some groceries + some junk food, because I felt like it. Then went back home, cleaned a bit and did the dishes. Slept for another 3 hours xD And then went to meet up with Maarja. Our meeting was long overdue as I cancelled the last time, because I was a mess. Anyway, finally we got to hang out, have some great food and talk about life and stuff. It was great 😀

Pre-birthday… 8. April 2017

Coffee and I shared these rice cakes with milk chocolate with my boyfriend

 Some gummy bunnies

Toast with salted salmon and a boiled egg

 Radish salad and potato salad

Mashed potatoes with garlic sauce and oven baked chicken

 Kringel that my grandmother made

 Coffee

My grandparents came to Tallinn to celebrate my and my brother’s birthdays a day early. We helped my mom to prepare all the food and then I overate so much xD

Day out… 8. February 2017

Wheat crackers with mashed avocado, cucumber and radish

A latte and a salted salmon croissant @ Bonaparte Bistroo

 Mille-feuille

Fried potatoes, baked fish and some salad

I met up with Kadi in the morning and accompanied her to some shopping around town. Then we had lunch in Bonaparte Bistroo which was quite nice. Also, she got me a skirt from a second hand store :p I think it fit me alright, so thanks!

Raid and dreams and Kiki… 14-15. January 2017

14. January

Garlic pork, fried potatoes, salad with zucchini

 A banana

 Cookies!

 Beer

It was raid night with my guild on Rift. So much inappropriate fun ♥

Also, dreams: I dreamed that I applied for a ticket seller job at Tallinn Zoo, but was terribly late for the interview, because I was looking for the main office inside the zoo, but it turned out that it was actually a few streets away from the place. It was awfully embarrassing when I finally got there and the people interviewing me were not too impressed at me keeping them waiting for over an hour. I don’t think I got the job.

15. January

A banana, cocoa pudding and a cup of coffee

Sushi! Mostly with salted salmon, cucumber and avocado.
(Thanks, Josie, for the photo. I was a forgetful goose and didn’t take a photo myself. Unbelievable, but sometimes that still can happen.)

 Delicious red velvet cake

Josie came for a visit and brought cake 😀 I made sushi and we watched “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” which was a charming, but silly little movie. It was a really fun day 🙂

Otherwise I was weirdly tired and sleepy the entire day. I napped for an hour before Josie arrived and when she left after the movie I fell asleep for another 2 hours. I just couldn’t stay awake for some reason.

Jūrmala and a long drive back home… 5. July 2016

Coffee, raspberry yoghurt with flax seeds, sandwich with sausage and tomato

Some raspberries. I ate half of them and left the rest for my bf.

 Half a quark pastry

Potato pancakes with salted salmon and sour cream

 Coffee and Bounty chocolate

Ekselence peanut butter ice cream. This was so good! I really liked how there were two different chocolate layers and some peanut butter inbetween those.

Hamburger, fries, salad and milk @ Aleksandri Pubi

The weather was still crappy and the camping place still unbearably uncomfortable, so mom decided to cancel her plans to stay there for two weeks and go back home. I would have stayed for another two days with her, but now I was going back home with her as well.

It was a hassle to get our money refunded that we had paid in advance for the lodging, because apparently the owner’s computer had mysteriously stopped working the previous evening, so he couldn’t access his bank… and other excuses. But my mom is amazing at getting what she wants so eventually she got her refund. She wanted to outright cause a scandal over false advertising and crappy sleeping conditions, but I had the feeling that they wouldn’t have returned a penny if she had done that. Instead I suggested she lie that her son had fallen ill in the ice skating camp and she unexpectedly had to return to Estonia with him. They were more helpful and forthcoming with that explanation.

The odd lady, that had showed up the previous night, was pretty upset too and said she would go and look for a different place to sleep nearby. She however really tried to push her way to come with us to wherever we were going and mom had a hard time turning her down politely (she only spoke Russian and I can’t speak any). She also was a pushy religious person and I freaked out over how she drank water with two huge soup spoonfuls of soda crystals in the morning. I mean I’ve heard that some soda crystals in water can have health benefits, but only if you use a little. Two huge spoonfuls for a glass of water is way too much and apparently she did that every morning :/ She also wasn’t too happy that we refused to drink any.

Anyway, after we got away from the camp site, we stopped in a town called Jūrmala. We walked around for a bit in the centre, had lunch and took a quick peek at their beach. It’s supposedly a health resort town and even though there were so many people around, the town itself felt half-empty as there were so many empty and boarded up houses. Even brand new buildings seemed to be mostly empty and it felt a bit eerie. The architecture was super nice however and it was sad seeing all these amazing looking houses empty and rotting 😦

After that we drove back to Estonia. We made a stop in Pärnu and had dinner at a local pub, because my dad was there and then continued to Tallinn.
