Blade Runner 2049… 11. October 2017

Coffee and Greek yoghurt with wild berry jam (I ate two of those)

Corn and bean soup with pork and some sour cream

Nuts and seeds in dark chocolate

Rice with tuna, eggs and sesame-wasabi spice

We went to see “Blade Runner 2049” in the evening. Wow, that movie was such a stunning piece of art. I loved the aesthetics and the music. The story too was engrossing and oh so terribly sad. I had a genuinely fantastic movie experience.

Pet all the puppies!… 10. October 2017

A quark pastry, a wiener pastry and a cup of coffee.

Pasta carbonara with some cherry tomatoes.

 Skyr with honey.

Rice with tuna, tomatoes, sour cream and wasabi-sesame spice.

There are amazing pros and cons to working in a café. The pros are that we have a pet friendly establishment, so I get to pet a lot of cute dogs and an occasional ferret among other critters. No one has sadly brought their cat yet.

The cons are occasional unsavoury customers. For instance, this time a very drunken and smelly Russian guy first bothered women in the bus stop in front of our café, then came inside and attempted to bother my female customers. I told him to stop and managed to keep him away from my clients, but then he started professing his love to me over the counter. I played dumb, told him that I hardly understood what he was saying and invited our tall male chef to come and translate for me. The drunken guy didn’t seem to like that xD Ugh, I was so relieved when we finally got him to leave.

No Korean food for you… 29. September 2017

Chanterelle soup with some nuts, seeds and some sour cream.

Nelleulla milk chocolate with pistachios. This was an unsatisfying chocolate. It would have been better if it would have had more than four pistachios in it.

Korean style “pancakes” with pickled radish and some sad tasting kimchi. The pancakes were undercooked and the kimchi had no flavour. The radish was tasty though.

Toast with tuna tartare and some salad @ Grenka. Also had an ice coffee. I liked the coffee, but I didn’t like that the tuna tartare was sweet D:

There was a Korean fried chicken event at my work and we had planned to go, however, the place was packed and we felt in the way, so we decided to go and have some Korean food at Gostu instead… but Gotsu was reserved for the evening D: I was so upset! So, we settled for Grenka and the tuna tartare did fill my stomach, but didn’t sate my appetite.

I am back… 1. September 2017

I found myself a new place to host my photos and even though I haven’t restored all my blog posts yet, I thought I could continue posting new things while working on the backlog. For a while I was so angry at the entire Photobucket bullshit that I couldn’t even read anyone else’s blogs without becoming upset again. I didn’t take any photos of my food either.

Anyhow, I’ve found motivation again to continue my project. I think the small break did me good actually.

Rice with tuna, assorted nuts and seeds, and soy sauce

 Cardamom biscuits

Rice with chicken sauce, beef sauce, vegetable sauce + some spring rolls @ Josie’s place. There was board games and food. I watched others play as I am not too fond of playing board games, especially games like Catan etc. I was also a bit out of it, feeling tired, because of the two 15h shifts I had pulled on the previous days. It was fun though just watching others play while I sipped my beer (of which I forgot to take a photo).

 Blueberry cake

 Pelmeni

How have you been, dear readers, while I was gone?

Two days off work… 8-9. June 2017

8. June

Chicken heart-sorrel soup with sour cream

True Spirit sea salt potato chips

 Coffee, hazelnuts in milk chocolate

Red rice with tuna-tomato sauce and some marinated cucumber-carrot salad

9. June

Fried eggs with tuna-tomato sauce and some marinated cucumber-carrot salad

Milka Choco Jaffa orange jelly cookies

Potato and barley curry with sour cream

I had two days off work, so I did some errand running in town, dyed my hair green, prepared some water kimchi and started on my first sourdough starter. I’d say that it was a productive two days despite me failing to get the apartment clean. Oh well, dust bunny and kitty litter free floors are overrated anyway.

Also, I have lost 6kg! 😀 So hyped!
About 7 more kg to go now 😦

Bags under my eyes are here to stay… 15-16. May 2017

15. May

 A banana

 Peanut butter energy bar

 Pelmeni with sour cream

 Spaghetti with tuna-veggie sauce

I went and picked up my new ID-card at the police office. I hoped that the bags under my eyes would be less visible on the light photo on the ID, but they are quite very much there. I guess I just should somehow try to accept that the bags are there to stay. You can’t fight your genes I suppose.

16. May

A couple of bananas and a cup of coffee

 Bacon-onion pastry

Four grain porridge with berries @ Koloniaal

Roasted eggplant soup and some coriander bread @ Koloniaal

 Strawberry-rhubarb juice

Whipped quark with strawberries and chocolate syrup

 A cherry-apple pastry

Lamb stew with a potato and some carrot @ Koloniaal

I worked all day and basically went to sleep as soon as I got home xD
