[what I ate.] 9. July – 15. July 2018

9. July

Instant noodles.

Strawberries and coffee.

Chocolate ice cream.

Potato-quinoa cutlet with some salad.

Whipped cream and quark with strawberries.

10. July – Iron Man

Oatmeal porridge with chia seeds, roasted sunflowers seeds and some strawberries. Also had some coffee.

Potato-quinoa cutlet with a poached egg, some lettuce and avocado.

An iced mocha treat after another doctor appointment.

I made cheeseburgers and fries for our movie night. We watched Iron Man (2008) with Kadi and Miss K, so the food was thematic 😀

11. July

Porridge with carrots and chia seeds. Also, some coffee.

Oven baked risotto with mushrooms, green beans and seeds.

A smoothie with berries and kama.

Creamy pasta with mushrooms, cashews and beef.

12. July

Moring coffee. I am trying to learn how to draw a wheat/rye ear like pattern on the coffee to suit the bakery.

A bit of spinach smoothie.

Smoothie with rhubarb, strawberries and ginger; tomato-bell pepper soup and a cheese pastry.

Beetroot smoothie.

Dinner with Marit at Mister Kebab: I had beef kofta, some dolma and a green cola.

Iced brownie coffee cocktail.

13. July

Pear and kiwi smoothie with spirulina. This was alright.

Baked potatoes and tomato with salad.

Coffee and a raw buckwheat smoothie with black currants.

Black currant-chocolate roll and a fish pastry.

Chocolate ice cream.

Tiina jelly sticks in chocolate. So good!

Baked breaded fish.

14. July

Grilled sandwich with cheese and ham. Also, some coffee.

Cucumber sprite. Nice cucumber flavour and very refreshing, but a tad bit too sweet.

Potato chips and guacamole.

Baked potatoes with fish tacos.

15. July – Hulk

Pelmeni.

Super Mario wheat in chocolate.

Kadi brought me this gummy candy.

We watched “The Incredible Hulk” (2008) with Kadi and Miss K and had a “green” themed dinner: Couscous salad, kiwi-spinach smoothie, pistachio halva, broccoli snacks, tortilla chips with guacamole and Kadi made a green marzipan Hulk :p

Marzipan Hulk has a big “zucchini” :p

We also made green chocolates and had pistachio ice cream. The movie was kind of meh, but the dinner was superb xD

Tasting new things… 27. April 2018

 Couscous salad with smoked chicken.

Coffee and Ruby Cocoa Kit-Kat. I liked this a lot. The slightly sour berry aftertaste was really nice.

 A cheese roll.

Coffee, cauliflower-green pea soup with sour cream.

Tasted some snacks with hubby: artisan butter senbei, ume cookie (with chopped plum and shiso), white chocolate strawberry. The cookie was okay, the senbei was super delicious and the white chocolate strawberry was quite yuck, because it tasted like strawberry butter.

Exploding Kittens… 21. April 2018

 Fried eggs and broccolini.

Coffee and a grilled sandwich with ham, cheese and tomato.

Kadi and Kerttu were over and we had some fun by assembling Japanese DIY candy kits. I’m glad I was feeling healthy again, because it would have been such a bummer to cancel the event. After the candy we played Exploding Kittens, a card game, for a while and it was very fun 😀

This one was a cute one 😀 We pushed some soft candy into molds and made some adorable candy veggies. They tasted good too.

Foam candies with nonpareils and chocolate sauce. The green one was melon flavoured and the pink one was cherry. These flavours were one of the best ones out of different ones I’ve tried so far with this type of kit.

Foamy ice cream in a cone. This one was very bad, it tasted like baking soda and cardboard.

 A gummy skull from Kerttu.

 Some watermelon.

Adorable and yummy chocolates we made with another kit 😀

Dinner was mixed rice with enoki mushroom and broccolini miso soup.

Forest berry juice and a lemon-white chocolate cookie and a pecan cookie that Kerttu provided for dessert.

I am going to eat all the semla for the next week… 5. February 2018

Mixed cocoa-white chocolate and quinoa cereal with milk.

Sichuan pepper soup with noodles and dumplings and some keema naan @ Little India.

Sauerkraut soup with pork, barley and sour cream.

Coffee and a raspberry semla from Maiasmokk. I had another of their semla a bit later.

I love semla. I always anticipate Shrove Tuesday approaching, so I could eat some semla 😀 There just isn’t anything better than a delicious fluffy white bread bun, stuffed with jam and topped with fresh whipped cream. However, I wasn’t always this hyped about the semla pastry. When I was a child, I absolutely hated them xD To me there wasn’t anything more disgusting than white bread with whipped cream xD So, my love for this pastry has been an acquired taste.

First, I started enjoying semla with quark-whip instead of whipped cream, because I was still iffy about the cream version. Then, maybe 7 or 8 years ago I finally came around to whipped cream too and so now I am really looking forward to semla time every year.

Wow so much food… 14. November 2014

Omelette with roast beef and tomatoes. Also a cup of coffee.

Wine and raspberry flavoured frozen yoghurt (I still prefer the plain flavour over all)

White chocolate-marzipan kringel and ham-cheese kringel

 Coffee, piece of rum cake

Sherwood Winter Apple Cider. Usually I don’t like vanilla flavoured drinks, but this one was a pretty good one. Perhaps it was the combination with cinnamon and apple that made it better.

Chinese food: noodles, rice, spring rolls and … I really don’t remember what sauces/meats we had.

Totoro posing with my chocolate cookies
